Title: Prices reduced
Post by: bassindude on January 27, 2010, 08:51:56 PM
I was at the BPS in Branson MO this afternoon, and noticed a new 2010 Z8 for $29,900 which seemed like a really good price.  I spoke with a very knowlegable guy, Homer, that gave me the details on the Z8.  He told me that They had recently dropped the prices on the Z8 and Z9 by $10,000 bucks.  Ive been looking at used Tritons, and Legends, but this deal seems to be pretty good.  The way it comes out, for about 5K more you can get a New boat.  This is killing me.  What do you Nitro guys think?

if they're discounting new boats...at some point doesn't the used market have to also follow suit to an extent?

patience might be a very good characteristic...for a boat buyer...

Thats exactally what Im thinking CF.  maybe boat prices will finally come back to earth.  The only thing I can see that wont allow sed prices to drop so much is that whoever bought is likely still owes more on it than it is currently worth.

I just bought a 2010 Z7 with a 200 pro xs from the store in Springfield.  Nobody and I mean NO other brand could compete with what I got. Can't wait.  Bassindude take the trip to the Springfield store and talk with Kevin Polcyn.  He is also a tourney fisherman and knows all there is to know about the rigs and options that you will want to add and those maybe not needed.  I have talked with Homer down there in Branson.........all I can say is I sure hope he was new......sounds like he has studied up since my last visit. Told him I was looking at the Z series boats and he wasn't sure what I meant. Kept trying to get me to look at a Tahoe Q4 or whatever they are, that they had there. ::)

I feel sorry for those that just bought Nitros in the last couple, they are gonna  take a hit, but I applaud Nitro for bringing prices a bit closer to where they belong.  It was out of hand.  Hope other brands follow suit.

DChance,  What are the rear storage areas like?  Have they improved, or are they still the drop in "rubbermaid type"?  Squire

They are the drop in plastic tubs, but that is not a bad thing. That is a feature that is very handy to have. It makes it very easy to just pull out and throw in the truck or hotel room for security reasons. Not only that, you can access behind the seats and around the livewells very easily which makes running wires etc very easy. My 901 also had a battery stored under each rear compartment.  Definitely a plus and not a negative aspect for sure.

Plus, you can pull them out and hose them down a lot easier.  I like that feature myself.

I have a new 2010 Z7 with a 200hp optimax proxs ordered, Should be in about March, cant wait to see how fast that baby will run. Traded in a 2009 Z7 with a 150, it would run in the mid 60's. The 200 hp with the jack plate should be a lot faster.

I've been shopping pretty hard and I'm hoping that sales will stay slow so ALL the boats will have to come down closer to what the economy state is and not so much what we are so ready or able to run out and finance. Yes, there will be some dealers or manufacturers that go out of business but that may be what it takes to get the cost in more mortal range. Good dealers with good service will survive and that's the only kind I want to deal with anyway.
