I have never heard of them before until here.I have never even seen them in stores.I looked on their site and saw spinner baits on sale for $6. I thought that was a little steap. Are they that good? I have been using Strike King baits for a long time now.I'm just looking for some feed back on these KaRu lures.
Can you only buy them from KaRu? I didn't see any in stores.I just thought maybe I would pick one up to try it.I didn't want to order on from their site and pay $6 for a spinner bait and than add $10 shipping on top of that.
It's not your average spinnerbait> look close.... it's a new patent design. See there is a front blade...

And yes I guess you might think they are a litle steep but they catch fish and you cannot buy them anywhere else. Also their vibrashock is just plain the best of it's type on the market.

P.S. I will need to know what type of water you fish and the main forage.
that's the spirit Lee!! I have a hard time parting with mine.... But I did give to Vibrashocks and 2 vibraspins to Larry of Larry's fishing hole, a central ill fishing reports guy. He does tackle reviews and since he keeps the website for reports, that I use all the time, I thought it was a good thing to do. Still haven't been able to get a review out of him. I think the lures have a hard time penetrating the think white water crust.

Well i won a nice looking Vibraspin on here not too long ago but second cast it broke off :'( :'( ~rant
I have what may be a silly question for the KaRu folks... I periodically hang or break off a lure, so I need to get a replacement (just 1 lure). This isn't too bad when it means swinging by Dick's, Academy, or Bass Pro, but I really hate to lose a Vibrashock because the minimum shipping is almost as much as the bait. Is it be possible to set up a "replacement bait" purchase option that's literally just one bait in an envelope for purchase price + $1 shipping or something like that?
Just curious since I lost another Vibrashock to a rock this afternoon. ~xyz Fortunately I have a spare of that color, but I'm almost afraid to use it because it's been a productive color (Crigger Craw) and I don't want to lose my last one.

Shipping and Handling charges are three fold. First there is the cost to ship you your order along with delivery confirmation charges and tracking info. This alone for just one lure is more than a dollar. Second, packing supplies and labels aren't cheap either, about a dollar per order. Third is time and cost of transport to the shipper. With the cost of gas last year this was a big concern but we still kept our prices the same when others were raising theirs. We also added the "Free Shipping" for orders over $50.00.. The minimum S&H charge is just that, a minimum, anything less and we lose money. Order one lure from Bass Pro and see what the S&H costs are, last I looked it was $7.95 so I'd have to say we are doing pretty good. My only advice, order 10 of your favorites next time and have plenty and take advantage of our Free Shipping ;) ;D

Karu's are the real deal. They might cost more than a cheapo chatterbait or spinnerbait at walmart or basspro, but the quality is far better IMO. The hooks are stronger, sharper and better and the blades are stainless steel, making them nearly impossible to bend. Go buy another brand chatterbait and see how easy their blades bend very easily. The Karu's will last twice as long so your getting what you pay for IMO.

yeah, KaRu is the real deal, no hype involved. All I've used are the football jigs so far, and I caught my first jig fish off of them. ( I'd been trying for 2 years) These lures are in my opinion superior to any lure of equal value, especially with the sale ( that ends today). The components are of the highest quality: the skirt, which is actually thick, not just a puny little thing. The heads, don't chip, period. The hooks, super sharp and tough. And of course the color patterns!! These are some of the most realistic jigs I have ever seen... ~c~ ~c~
Sweet Bass Fogy. ~c~ ~c~ ~c~ Man I gotta get that new vibraspin. ~sweat ~sweat ~sweat
Okay, I have been on the fence about this as well, but after a PM from Lee I have just placed my first order. I think the Football weights are gonna be extremely kewl, already thinking of different applications to use them in. Thanks again Lee for taking the time to offer advice on colors / baits to my specific application. I won't go into what I ordered but lets just say I was able to capitolize on the free shipping! ~c~

The main difference is the components. Karu is all made in america by Karl himself. That way he can put the absolute best quality products onto them without having to charge an arm and a leg to get them shipped over seas to get assembled and packaged. They do cost alittle more than say a rad lures chatterbait, but the blades are twice as thick and 10 times stronger. They are stainless steel not some cheap aluminum.
The vibraspins are unlike anyother spinnerbait out there and the football weights are also a really cool idea thats going to be a huge hit for working soft plastics in rocks. They use a very durable powder coat finish on all of their jig heads and the customer service is 2nd to none. Did I also mention they were made right here in the U.S.A. ~flag
I just put my order in this morning. Can't wait to get them so I can cast 'em out on the ice. :) I hear they are so awesome, I bet the fish put will be busting through the ice to get at 'em.

That's important these days. Man, I am so sick of seeing "Made in CHINA" on everything. It seems like everything from pens & pencils to toilet paper and toothbrushes are made in China now.
Chatterbaits are made in CHINA, while KaRu Vibrashocks are made in USA. Vibrashocks cost less and last longer. No brainer.
As stated, these lures are much more than hype. They talk a big game, but the difference is that they back it up. I used to be one of those guys aggravated with the quality (or lack of) of the chatterbaits. You won't be disappointed if you go with KaRu. Plus, they have some awesome jigs and the colors are SICK. Extreme Bluegill, Fogy Green, Blueback Herring are just a few of my favorites. ;D

The pics really don't do justice for colors like blue shimmer, fogy green and blue shimmer cotton candy. Its so hard to catch the light perfect in a pic to show how good it looks. Baits like the ones I mentioned above look white, but have a slight blue shimmer to them as the light hits it. Especially underwater. The fogy green is about the same way, but its so hard to show that in pics. Really have to see them in person.
Again, I'm not arguing I am just trying to figure out what everyone is talking about...but Booyah makes very good baits and they have some that look just like those..

The boogie bait is a little different.
1. it doesn't have a football head. I think this is important, because on the Karu the blade hits the head everytime creating a rattle that I believe helps the fish find the bait, making the hook up ratio much better on the vibrashock.
2. the way the blade is attached to the head of the boogie bait look to me like it would hinder the blade swivel. It also looks like it would bend easily. If that were to happen your blade would bind and your out 6 bucks.
3. the blade design is much different. For instance the boogie bait has holes in it. Thats ok. It won't affect it much, but it will most likely make the bait run shallower is all.
Hope that helps. Her's some pics so you can compare the to and see what I'm talking about.

The Booyah Boogie baits are good too. I (and others) have had problems with the snap breaking off between the blade and the head, but that seems to depend on where you're fishing and what you hit. I think the impact of bumping off rocks and other cover is what causes the snap to break. I have a problem avoiding rocks, though. ;D
The Boogie baits are $5.99, so they're only slightly more expensive than the Karu Vibrashocks ($1 more expensive during the Karu sale which ends tonight).
KaRu products are awesome, always have been...im not sponsored by them or on the team I just know from experience. Where else would you get the customer service and the fact that your bait is made by hand by a bass fisherman. Not some one who doesnt fish or on an assembly line.

Looks like some good colors to me ~c~ ~c~
Hey maybe if we keep Karl so busy he won't be able to go down south lo lo
Bassburner15. Thats a heck of an order. ~c~ The only thing I can see that your missing is blue shimmer cotton candy. The pics don't do this bait justice. Last year was a cotton candy dream summer and from all the reports everybody was killing them on it! If it were me I'd get some blue shimmer cotton candy. ;) Heck it was me. I got all of my baits in black cherry for muddy water and night and blue shimmer cotton candy for clear water. Those are my favorites and I wouldn't leave home without them.

What's West Coast Special mean?
West coast special is a trout color. In california they stock all their lakes with trout and giant bass Gorge on them.

Are you guys sure that these lures really work? Cause here is why I'm asking.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Well it all starts like this.My dad is 71yrs old.All he wants to do being retired to to go out on the lake and bass fish.I love bass fishing. All I ever used to do was fish some ponds. The lake thing is new.
Anyway,I get all excited cause you know we will have to get a boat. Well to make a long story short,I start doing my researching and stuff. We buy a brand new 2008 Ranger 188vx,with Lowrance 522c.Than we Head over to BPS and drop over $2,000 on rods reels lures the whole nine yards. We get all set up.Took sonar seminars and everything. We bought the hot spot cards too.
So we head out to the lake.We fish all day. This was in April. Not a bite.Nothing.Well,this went on all damn summer. We have tried every lure every combo we can think of.I brought magazines with me with articles and tried to do what it says in there.Nothing. This went on for 4 months with out even one small bite!
So we decided lets try some other lakes.Same damn thing.Well today 12/19/08 it was 70 out today. So we head to the lake. And guess what? All we did was waste gas!Is this insane or what?6 months and not even a friggin nibble.I'm so mad but laughing at the same time.
All I want is my dad to catch one little bass and he will be sooo happy. You should have seen the look on his face when he thought he got a hit.His face lite right up! It was just a snag.
I have been fishing in Lake greenwood S.C. I was fishing in Lake Hartwell where the 2008 Bassmasters was. Hartwell is down to dirt and grass is growing in spots.Thats why I switched over to Greenwood lake. I don't have anyone to fish with so I'm on my own to learn the most I can.
I'v been using Strike King KVD crank baits, spinner baits, green pumkin gulp worms, buzz baits, and other top water stuff.
I'v been out there at the crack of dawn, afternoon, evening. How is it possible not to catch one tiny little bass.In the ponds you catch them till the cows come home.
So what am I doing wrong?I just totally give up. Do I need to go to a better lake?
Now I'm flat broke. This is my last resort. If they don't work than everything is up for sale!
Now this has been going on for 8 months!!! ~rant :help:
Thats rough bassburner. I along with 75% of the fisherman on this site will verify that KARU bait catch fish...PERIOD!! I leave the ramp in the morning with 2 vibrashocks and 2 Poisontail jigs on and thats about the only 4 rods on my deck. and I must say I've caught some pretty good fish last year and I know of a few tournaments that have been on fishing KARU baits.
Here is some proof.

Ah, this reminds me of some advice I got from an old fisherman after I complained that nothing was biting: son, get yerself some crickets or shiners or some crawfish and you'll get bites.
Also, look up your local bass fishing club. Call 'em, talk with 'em, and fish with 'em. You'll learn that which cannot be learned from books and videos. And they'll be happy to do it. Money isn't always the answer (but it sure helps!).
Nice fish Buzzbait!
Bassburner there isn't any such thing as a lure that will catch fish everytime you use it and you don't know me as well as most of the guys and gals that hang out here but they can tell you I'm not a Bassguy and really only started fishing for Bass and trying to catch them on purpose last year and I can tell you I have caught Bass on the vibershocks and poision tail jig. MY PB was caught last March on Lake Fork Texas on a Black and Blue poision tail jig

So yes they do catch Bass in diffrent parts of the country. Like has been said check with the bait shops and local fishermen and even some clubs in your area and see if you can follow them around and get some pointers on how to fish that lake.
Well finally! My dad cought one at Lake Greenwood today on a lipless crank in some underwater timber at 6 feet of water. As for me,nada. LOL Thats ok It's more important to me to see him catch one.He was soooo happy.

give your dad a pat on the back for hanging in there for me. not only did he catch a bass, but a very nice one as well!! a solid keeper I'd say 2.5-3 lbs judging by a combo of the 3 views.
Congrats to your dad. Thats a pretty nice one for the first one. ~c~ If I were you I would go back to those trees with a soft plastic or jig of somekind and work them over good.
Way to go Bassburner15's Dad ~c~ ~gf
Thanks guys! I just made a pretty big KaRu order. So as soon as I get them I'll head back to that streach of water and work those vibrshocks through every limb. Hopfully I can pull a few out myself this time.

All right way to go DAD nice looking Bass ~c~ ~c~
Great Job! The 1st of many to come! ~c~
How do you get the vibra spins to run deeper. They seem to just run just below the water.Even if I let it hit botton it will run straight to the top and out of the strike zone to quick.I'm trying to get it to run deeper and stay deeper to run through the weeds and brush piles.Any ideas?

Bend the wire where it comes out of the head upwards, towards the hook, just a little and you'll be able to run it deeper. You may need to slow down your retrieve also, these were made to be slow rolled. You can also keep your rod tip low in order to achieve a deeper/faster retrieve ;)
I knew there was some trick. So the more I bend it the deeper it will run?

NOOOO lo Bend just a little at a time, if you go to far you'll kill the action.....
I bent it a little and it did run a little deeper.I fished a tournament this past weekend.I was using a KaRu vibraspin but couldn't get them to bite it.Tried a vibra shack and same thing.I just don't have any luck with them.I had to go to back to my other spinner baits to get them in the boat. ???
There is a time and place. Karl and I are both avid shock throwers and its basically my confidence bait all year long. But I remember a time last year for about a week or 2 when they just would not hit a shock or vibraspin and neither of us could catch much on them. Keep with it, alot of it has to do with the time of year and having confidence in the bait. I can catch a fish on a vibrashock almost all year long, but sometimes it takes awhile to figure out what they want. Early in the year I have my best luck letting it sink to the bottom and realing it just fast enough to make the blade work while keeping contact with the bottom the whole time.
The Vibraspin has to be slow rolled to keep it down.
I had it going just fast enough to get it to spin.Oh beleive me I'm not giving up on them at all.
I used the KaRu football jig this weekend in my tourney but the fish were just swatting at lures so I didnt connect on any but there will be plenty more times this year.

I remember that time very well lo Thats when I came up with the cotton candy dream ;D They nailed that on a double gold willow blade 1/4oz spinnerbait but wouldn't take it on either KaRu. Gold was the key those 2 weeks ;)
When the shock bite is on its a beautifull thing lo Its not a catch all lure all the time but it has been good to me ;) ~gf
Been wanting to try KaRu for a long time now. I just seeded a womans lawn and got some extra spending $ so now I might be trying them.
