well if you are serious about it then i would say try offering your time at trade shows, whether it be helping set up, run their booth, or just assist people whom are looking for help.  Seminars at club meetings, tackle shops, website, etc.  I dont have much experience with this but from what i've seen and read this is how your HELP your sponsor gain a following which is what they are looking for.

I think you have to find out what your sponsors want/need and decide how you can best help them.

If you have limited time, writing fishing reports could be the key, not just here on the net but maybe for the local paper.  In the end it's just guess work until you know what they want.

Sounds like you are very busy.  If you are time limited - then find a way to free up some additional time or find a way to better make use of the time you do have.

Write a couple articles for forums like this one (for example - write about your favorite bait or technique).  Write a good fishing report after a day on the water.  Writing = communicatiing.  A well written article/report gets noticed.  Teach a group of kids something you wish you would have known a few years earlier regards fishing - take pictures of the event - write an article for local paper/internet forums about it.

Getting sponsored does not happen overnight.  It takes time.  Like building a house - it all starts with building a good foundation.  If you can communicate effectively, project yourself well around others, and are self motivated to take the extra steps necessary to succeed - you should do very well.  Good luck!!
