Congratulations to the individual teams from Lockjaw for taking the top three individual team trophies...but...however...
THE TEAM SHOOTOUT TROPHY STAYS IN ITS RIGHTFUL HOME....LIVING WITH THE TWIN CITIES TEAM CLUB. ~c~ ~c~
Now....can any of you say...for the 2006 UBCS....
THREE-PEAT
THREE-PEAT ~c~ ~c~ and who knows maybe a four banger too lo lo
All I know is that if you Got it Flaunt it! j~w I sure like how people will travel so far just to get a spanking. :P
you know none of this is very fair as those guys got a long drive home & wounds to lick, its kinda like picking on Ranger
we got our own wounds on this one, not to take away from our victory but our very own Brian (hah spelled it right ;) ) missed a trophy by mear ounces :'(
Your right but you guys had to give them something to get them to come back for another lesson next year! :roll2: Well that & if it was the other way around they would be all over us about winning all the little fights only to lose the war.
It is a team event after all & you all pulled through again only to show if nothing else you are a great bunch of red-neck guys & gals that I am proud to fish with.
Well, no matter how it came out we have to go to their home water next time. See a team can't be the host twice in a row, and since the other teams we had coming had to bail out for various reasons we are headed to South Louisiana ;) but that's O.K. we took all the trophies last time we were down there ~c~
I thought we were going to MO,,, Table Rock.
& I need to watch my posting better, the one below didn't say Guys as I had meant :roll2:
That will be a Rally but the Shoot Out will always be about the clubs. More to come on that we are still working out the details :-*
I think that the trip to Southern Louisiana is going to be a good one! We had a great time last year and this year was one heck of a time so I am sure that the 2006 UBCS will be one of the best so far ~c~
We just put the Championship Trophy back in it's rightful place and it looks sooooooooooooo good lo

Got it :-* Tat means I get 2 fishing trips!!!!!!! Great idea
Well hats off to the TCTC for taking home the Club Trophy. We had to let yall win something, after all we had the biggests individual stringer of the tournament and the top three places.
This was our first shoot-out and we had a great time with some great folks ~c~! TCTC comes through to keep the Team Trophy again! Can't wait till next year!
The Lockjaw team did very well. They did their homework and then fished hard . They were leading going into Saturday evening and had us concerned Sunday. These guys can fish... ~c~ ~c~ ~c~
Man I am hearing a lot of hot air from a club that did not put a team in the top three. I do not have the totals but I am not sure tc had a team in the top six. Man we should have had those totals audited.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Congraluations tc for coming back the second day and pulling out the team title.
We Lockjaw guys are happy, we gave ya'll a run for you money in your back yard and thats all we could ask for.
T H R E E P E A T
We had 4th, 5th and 6th place ;D Oh and 8th and 9th lo
I think it had to be a draw on performance.... Hot days and tough fishing and both clubs had something to take home in the end. Congratulations to everyone that participated!
Thanks mike for spelling it right this time..... :roll2: yes we were 4th overall we had only 4 fish sundy and the 5th fish would have gave us 2nd place.. :'( ..
:( :( :(I know how you feel Railroader. We took second after leading the first day and if we wouldn't have lost the fish at the weigh-in we would have stayed in first. We only were able to weigh in three unders at the weigh-in on Sunday. I got broke off twice, one on an unknown species of fish, and one on a possible 13" fish that came out of the water and my knot broke. I am not just saying this, but the fish that got culled at the weigh in definitely was over on our board. I don't know if he shrunk or what. Caught him at 11:40 so it doesn't seem like he should have dropped that much. Somebody said that the ice in the livewells can make them shrink up. We were trying to keep our fish alive after having the 4.9 lber die on Saturday. We all got :( sad stories. Never figured we could contend for anything so Second is way higher than our goal was. ~c~ :roll2: lo We went up there just wanting to catch a few to help the club.
My partner and I had a very good chance to win the 1st place overall trophy as well . We incurred a stiff penalty for weighing three dead fish on day one which put us in second place overall ,day two we choked and weighed in a single fish finishing sixth. The bad thing about is we caught many more fish on the second day (slots and shorts killed us). The top 7 or 8 overall weights were very very close from what I remember. I know this is a club vs club event but to do well as a team is very nice as well.
If we had to get passed up for top team, I am glad it was a Lockjaw team. Congratulations to Charles and Darrell. They were the most consistent and took home the biggest trophies. Awesome father and son team. They made Lockjaw proud. ~c~ ~c~ ~c~ ~c~ ~c~ ~c~
Thanks Brush Hawg, we are feeling pretty good about our win. Would feel better if money came with the trophy ~an~. Congrulations to the Browns for a good preformance. ~c~
Next year Lockjaw takes everything ~SM ~bb
Congrats to the TCTC Club. ~c~ ~c~
There won't be a THREEPEAT though...................sorry. lo
Since you're talking places - who came in 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc. - I'm pretty sure we had a firm grasp on last................there must be some sort of concolation prize for that huh :-\
I am going to try to get that posted this afternoon ;)
In an effort not to embarrass TC members only the top three places were posted. :)
Speaking of next year, a number of us spoke over the weekend about how nice it would be to hold the tournament in cooler weather. The time of the year would not bother me but I am sure it would some. I would like to take an survey as to how many would like and not like it if the tournament was moved to April or May.
I don't mind the heat so much for me, but it is very hard on the fish and that is just as important in my mind. There are a lot of things to take into consideration though. One, it is a lot easier for folks to find the time and babysitters during the summer (kids are out of school and can go to grand parents ;) ) Two, the weather is usually stable, which I know is very important especially when fishing very far south, rains and floods can be very hard on the fishing. Three, spring is full of big money tournaments that folks are committed to and fall is hunting season. But for every con there is a pro :o Just some food for thought :-*
We also have to make sure we don't have a conflict with the Rally which is a whole other story. ;D
Ok.........................what's the rally?
The Rally is still in the works but it is basically a tournament for everyone on the board. Mike or Laurie can explain it better and have more details on it.
Now that would be a B-L-A-S-T!!! ~bu
Let me know how I can help!!!!
I started a new thread on the ralley for those of you that are interested ;)
I would definately be up for an earlier date in the Shootput ~c~ I say January on Caddo Lake ~an~
papa
Papa...that ain't happening. :roll2: Maybe Caddo on the 12th....that is the 12th of NEVER. lo
I have been reading about this year's event and must say that I am sorry I missed it. It sounds like the food alone was worth the trip. I am curious, what were the rules on the team vs team contest? Three biggest sacks like it was last year?
Hi Bo,
Man, long time no see,,,,how are you doing? Like the web site & club you are in.. ;)
It was like last years rules, top 10 best fish from each club each day totaled together and then both days totaled for the grand weght total.
Missed you buddy, Merila asked me just the other day if I had heard from you and again last night as we were putting up the winning group picture for 2005! ;PHO) :roll2:
Take care Bo,
Ricky
Ricky,
I have changed jobs and been all over the place. It has really interfeared with my fishing which is entirely unacceptable. To make a long story short...I have moved to Birmingham and have a new job that should give me more free time once I am settled in. The bad news is that the redfish are further away. The good news is that magnum Coosa River spots are close. So after I get settled in I should be able to contribute to the fishing reports board. Hopefully Mike and the rest of you guys can help me master fishing spinnerbaits at night ( I actually made a few after reading the ebook). Anyway, that is what is up with me.
My two cents on the timing is that the winning club should be able to pick the date so that they can pick a time of year that their local lake is ON FIRE.
Bo
Well guys I guess that the extra 7 fishermen Twin Cities put on the lake probably helped a little with the three peat. Of course our average stringer was bigger than the yankees. If the numbers were even looks like it would have been ugly.
That could be so goggle-eye,,,,,
but :-* :-* :-* if you go back and look at last years team numbers on the Calcasieu River, you will see that Lock-Jaw had a few more teams than TCTC,,,,,, did it matter? not really.........
it was just a good ole time......... ~c~ ~c~ ~c~
Ricky
A few tournament statistics!
Twin cities Lockjaw
Number of teams 10 7
Number of fish weighed 49 53
Fish weighted per team 4.9 7.9
Average wt per weighed 1.81 1.54
Fish weighed per team 4.9 7.9
Pounds weighed per team 8.84 11.60
Top ten fish weight 55.41 47.91
Average weight per top 10 2.77 2.40
Total weighted in 88.38 81.18
Cool, thanks Wildcat.
Thanks Wildcat ~c~ we had more teams but caugth less weigh fish :-\ I wonder who caught the most slot fish :roll2:
I told ya'll we shouldn't throw back all our small unders! I just knew sooner or later someone would throw up that they caught MORE fish...We wanted QUALITY not QUANTITY!
Anyone still got the stats from last year when WE were the underdog? lo
That shouldn't be hard to remember. I don't know if there were 20 fish caught. I'll have to do some checkin on that.
From what I heard I think Papa and Trey got the most slot fish. I did notice that both clubs tried to sneak a slot fish in at weigh-in.
I don't know if it was sneaking on not but both clubs did come up a little short on one fish each :roll2: and both clubs had one that really needed working but made it :roll2: good thing that warden wasn't around :shocking:
