Launched the Xpress 8 and out at 3 from Paige Bayou Marina yesterday and had a decent day on the water with 8 legal fish and a few shorts. I was able to lock a spinner bait in my hand for the most part and catch fish which is my favorite way to fish. Most of the keepers came on a whiteish 3/8 oz. swim jig attached to the in line blade I took of a Snagless Sally but caught a few in the Zoom UV speed worm including another nice red fish.Only frustrating part of the day was not figuring out a pattern to them, some were in 1-2' and some were on deeper edges. Air temps 40 to 70, clear skies turned into mostly cloudy by afternoon, light winds early 10+ from the SE by noon, water temps 57-60 and stained, tide rose hard all day with the SE wind. Best part of the day was a phone call from my USN grandson, who is stationed in San Diego, just as I was leaving the marina and we talked until I got home. Proud of that kid doing what he has always wanted to do.
Congrats on a successful outing. Thanks for sharing the trip and the details of the baits with us.
Thank your Grandson for his Service to our Great Nation for me ~flag Glad you had the opportunity to talk with him.
