Title: Lake Okeechobee
Post by: topdsm0138 on December 21, 2024, 09:56:59 AM
Gave my crews next Thursday & Friday off from work (with pay) as a lot of construction will not be allowed next week. Owner looked at me and said, "You never take any vacation time, you should enjoy a few days off as well." So, I invited one of my crew to go out to Lake Okeechobee as he's been wanting to go do some Speck (black crappie) fishing. So, the vhull boat will be making its 1st actual fishing trip to Lake O next Thursday. Crew wants to fish Chancey Bay.

So now, I'm spending the weekend sorting my tackle bag, and getting things ready. I'll sit a few lile bait poles out, and trow some casts for a bass or two as well.

Can't wait!  ;D

Well..the locks at J&S Fish Camp are closed, so had to run farther north to G-36/Henry Creek. Didn't get out on the lake until about 8:45am. Found a nice little spot and anchored up. We caught about 8 Specks before 9:30am when they quit biting, no matter where we moved. Because at 9:30am, it went from 64° to 84°. Too dang warm for them at that point. So started throwing plastic worms and we got a few dinks and panfish. Atleast I wasn't at work today. Heres a pic of a couple of today's keeper catch.
