Title: Bank Fishing Report
Post by: FlatsNBay on July 04, 2024, 03:45:15 PM
I didn't want to fight the holiday boat traffic and decided to go bank fishing instead. I have a buddy that lives in a neighboring gated community with 2 nice lakes. I fished there once before and had a lot of fun.

I started with topwater at the bigger of the two lakes and only had one short strike. I moved to the smaller lake and concentrated on a seawall and outflow coming from a lake in my neighborhood. I quickly caught 2 nice ones on a Yo-Zuri 3D Prop bait right up next to the seawall. I then casted to open water out in front of the pipe. Twitch, twitch,...sploosh! It wasn't a very big hit but it was a good one. After a short fight I slid her up in the grass. 6-0 on my new scale.

I moved over to a new area of the big lake. I caught another on a wake bait and then settled in on a nice lipless crankbait bite. Towards the end of my trip, I had a great hit. My drag screamed several times before landing another nice 4 1/2 pounder! The heat got brutal so I cut the trip short. Ended up with 11 in 2 1/2 hours. Happy 4th fellas.

Nice

A bad day of fishing is better than a good day at work.
