Seeing bass swimming around and not being able to catch them, is as bad as not seeing any bass at all sometimes. In this video, I share the simplest, but one of the most effective techniques to fish for finicky bass. Enjoy!

My kind of fishing. Same baits, same techniques. I will fish a Zoom Fluke the same way weightless. I will even fish a fluke wacky. I learned this a long time ago from a fellow fisherman that tore up all his Fluke noses and started fishing them wacky. Just let them slowly fall on slack line and then subtle twitches and long pauses. A dying fish technique. The catch rate never changed. The only difference is I use 100% Floro on Stickbaits and Flukes.
Great vid again Lou. I really enjoyed it, and your really getting good at it. ~c~ ~c~ ~c~
Thank you George. I appreciate you for watching.
I do love my stick baits. Xzone True Center and GY Senkos are my favorites and when the bite is non-existent, they will usually save the day, and Wacky is where it's at. I'm a Trokar man most of the time, but when I'm fishing Wacky I'm fishing Gamakatsu Wicked Whisker hooks. Usually a 1/0 or 2/0, but sometimes even 4/0.
I can dead stick with the best of them, give it a twitch and let it lay. Many times a seemingly lethargic bass will suck up a dead bait. If I'm in heavy cover I'll sometimes switch up to a Trokar Pro V flipping hook and Texas rig it.
Another quick change up when fishing a wacky rig is sticking a nail weight in the fat end and fishing it Neko. There's lots of ways to fish a Senko style bait.
Great video Lou! Wacky is also my go to when all else fails. I use wide hooks, various sizes. Often use the rubber O-rings, and they have ones that are weights which seem to work well. (bigger the hook, less need for weight). I favor topwater's cause I like to see the fish action! Be back out again Thurs/Fri when Fl weather returns!!
Safe Fishing!
Jim
Appreciate you for watching Jim, thanks!
Lou, great job once again in putting together a fish catching video ;)
When I fish stick baits I general use the 'Big Bite' Brand Original Wacky Stick Bait. I rig them the same way you did in your video > Texas Rigged / Wacky Rigged. I use Berkley Big Game Clear Mono 20lb line for 99% of my fishing.
The hooks I use vary depending on whether I'm flipping or casting the baits. If casting most of the time I use a EWG brand 3/0 or 4/0 hook. If I'm flipping or pitching then I'll use a Trokar or a V&M style flipping hook in the 3/0 or 4/0 size.
One of the other types of hook I used when Wacky Rigging is the VMC Wacky Rig Weedless Hook. The link is below for those that don't know what a Wacky Hook looks like.
