Good morning to all,
:toot: Welcome to September 2022 ~shade
I hope everyone has a Great Month Ahead. Hopefully the aches and pains will be minimal. I have everyone in my daily prayers as we still have some UB members having health and other issues needing a prayer. Fall fishing should be starting here shortly with some cooler weather moving across our areas.
We're starting the day off with Partly Cloudy Skies with the temps 73-90dgrs with 88% humidity and ESE wind @ 7mphs. We still have some chances of rain throughout these next few days coming up. We still need it badly.
To everyone have a really pleasant day today. I hope ya'll evening is relaxing as well.
Greetings to everyone,
Beautiful day across Central Texas today. Our forecasted temps were 74-97dgrs with 55% humidity and an E wind @6mphs.
Not a real busy day for me at the Fun Farm. I had my monthly meeting with the Director. After stopping at Walmart for a couple items I spent the rest of the day in the office playing on the computer.
I'm debating on whether to go to the Friday Night football game. Its suppose to start raining > Thunderstorm < just after the start of the game. I really don't feel like messing with a rain suit and dealing with the rain. I think I'm just going to stay home. I'll check the score out on the school's website later tonight.
Tomorrow is planned out already right off the bat got to get the time sheets done, trip to Sam's and some other shopping with the wife. Tomorrow starts Mary Hardin Baylor's football season. Their game is at 6pm. Hopefully the weather will be alright.
To everyone have a relaxing evening and a pleasant weekend ahead.
I usually do not post much. Here in N. Calif my weather station is 112 Lake Shasta is so low that my 2wd truck can't launch my boat. No sure is I would want too anyway with this temperature. The next several days will be even more heat intense. Hope all are well and safe.
Good Sunday morning to everyone
We're starting the day off with partly sunny skies and forecasted temps of 71-94dgrs with 93% humidity and a SE wind @ 2 mphs. There's still small % chances of rain this coming week ahead.
We're off to church here shortly. Lunch will be done at home today. We picked up some BBQ ribs from Sam's yesterday. I'm sure there will be some type of vegetables to go along with the meat. The afternoon will be spent trimming and mowing the yard. With all this rain we got the weeds are growing out of control. Afterwards a quick shower and it's in the recliner for some relaxation and TV.
twocold; Tks for stopping by we're glad you did. You guys that live out West there sure have taken a beating with this weather this year. We have a launching problem on some of our lakes too. For the most part though we have multiple places to launch from. Some of the lakes have both shallow and deep launch ramps.
Hope things improved there for ya soon. Drop in anytime and share the day with us.
To everyone have a safe Labor Day Holiday tomorrow. Be safe in your travels if you have to get out and about.
Great day here at the beach. Weather was good highs in the upper 80s humidity about 50% and a slight breeze from the east. Did not do any work today just kinda hangin' out. After Church we went to Bob Evans for a late breakfast. After breakfast went over and picked up the Ranger and brought her home. Charged the batteries and tomorrow I will give her some TLC and load up some of my tackle. Weather looks promising this coming week for a trip to the river. Today would not have been good due to the crowds. Drove by the ramp today and all the parking spots were full and lots of folks using the ramps to load and unload. Would not want to be on the intracoastal with that much traffic thats for sure. I will go out on Tuesday or Wednesday or maybe both days to do some fishing and you can be sure the launch area will be empty. This is the best thing about boating and fishing through the week.
Lots of folks here at the beach for the last long weekend of the summer and tomorrow they will be on the road leaving the beach and the traffic will be backlogged like crazy on the escape routes. It will look a like like a hurricane evac when all they can do is sit in traffic and move along inch by inch. Sure glad that isn't me anymore.
My new medication is doing a great job and my breathing is doing better and better. The real change is that I am eating like a pig. I usually don't have much of an appetite but that seems to have been changed and the only thing I can think of is the new medication. I am trying hard to eat right as not to put on weight but in the evening hours I get really hungry and I am raiding the fridge.
Afternoon guys. My brother in arms funeral is next weekend. His family has launched an investigation because he apparently was at the bottom of the pool for almost 20min before anyone noticed. Some said the other lifeguards amd councilors were on their phones instead. Still sad.
Anyways, it was just too dang hot for me to even attempt to go on the boat. I about overheated 3 times this weekend on Honey-Do lists.

Also, time to sell off the Stealth R/T to a collector or someone who values it more then me. I just don't have the time or money to keep spending on it, so bought me a newer model Mitsubishi instead. A 2007 Mitsubishi Eclipse GT. Has a 3.8L V6, 6spd manual (The millennial anti-theft device

), and Sport Package which includes leather interior, 18" wheels and larger brakes. For 2500, I couldn't say no. Spent today fixing all the quirks with it. Now, it's good to go.
Hope all are well and staying hydrated and cool. Take care. Another quiet day today. The only thing I had to do was to perform taxi services for the wife. I have to spend more time driving miss daisy than in the past but that is ok. We really don't need two vehicles and I have considered selling both and buying something newer to get us down to one vehicle. The cost of new cars and trucks and used cars and trucks is just so high that I just can't bring myself to make that kind of expenditure. My wife's car is 17 years old and my truck is 15 years old. The wife's car only has 44K miles and my expedition has 120K miles. Both vehicles run well although the Expedition could use some upgrades. Needs new shocks brakes and likely some steering components. A few other pita issues like the front passenger electric window is kaput and that needs replaced. I had this done to the drivers side a few years and and was surprised that the repair was well over $700 but probably would be over $1K now. Oh well it is much cheaper to repair what I already own than buy another vehicle. The expedition has the 5.4 motor and will easily last to over 200K miles. So spending a little to do some of the maintenance stuff would be money well spent.
Temps today to the mid to upper 80s and partly cloudy skies. Tonight some rain showers are currently taking place but they are just nice gentle showers. More of the same is expected tomorrow. I would like to take the boat out tomorrow if the Mrs. is feeling ok if not tomorrow maybe Wednesday. But it is gonna get wet for sure this week.
Good morning!!! 64 headed to 71, possible showers, rained all day yesterday and should get rain most of the week. When I worked I always took this week off for fishing and the day I saved for our anniversary. I carried raingear because I was guaranteed to get wet but the fishing was good and the waters weren't crowded. Top, nice looking car, hope it works out for you. We haven't had a manual trans in more years than I care to remember, the wife doesn't like them and they don't like her, I grew up with 3 on the tree, no problem for me.
Bud, good to hear your breathing is much better, you may have to join a gym now. lo Hopem you get into some fish.
Donald, hope the little darlings behave, at least for a while.
Have a great day, be well!!!

Good morning guys.
And goood thing my wife can't drive my car..

Going to be a slow week here at the office due to holiday weekend. But hey, I'm happy to be on cruise control for a little while.
Have a great day guys.

Good evening to everyone,
We got a little rain shower going on as I type this. Forecasted temps were 73 - 87dgrs with 71%humidity with a SE wind at 3mphs.
Slow day for me as I was attending my acupuncture treatment this morning. The afternoon was spent on the computer catching up from this morning absence. I had one of my Night Shift employees informed me this Friday would be her last day. Another member lost to a higher paying job.
Top; that's a really nice looking car you got there. Have fun with it.
Rodney; The little darlings and knotheads so far this week have been pretty good. Of course we've only had one day of school so far this week lo
Bud; Hope you continue to improve health wise. Tight lines to ya once you hit the river. Good luck on deciding on getting that new vehicle. There wasn't a lot of boat traffic out on the lake this past weekend. We had a nice little weather front move through bringing some rain with it. I think that had a lot of boaters changing their minds.
Guys ya'll have a really pleasant day tomorrow. Be save in your travels if you're out and about.
Good morning!!! 64 headed to 72, wet, partly nothing but clouds unless the sun pops out, showers, it's usually wet, cool week forecasting the run of trout and salmon. The bass are starting to put on the feed bag, a time for bigger baits moved faster.
Top, we're down to 1 car and it has to be an automatic, my wife doesn't want to drive a stick and is adamant about it, she wins. lo
Donald, you can't win for losing, you have to send people to help other schools but can't keep people because they leave for more pay, now what? I posted the pics of the club on the "Capturing the moment" thread Lou put up.
Have a great day, be well!!!
Rodney
Good evening to everyone
Forecasted temps for today across Central Texas were 72-94dgrs with 52% humidity with a NE wind @ 7mphs. There is a chance of a Thunder Storm moving through the area later on tonight or tomorrow some time.
Nice quiet day at the Fun Farm. I spent the first couple hours this morning working on one of our riding floor scrubbers. I took the squeegee apart and cleaned it. Removed a bunch of hair and other pieces of trash. Got everything back together and made a test run. Everything works as it's suppose too. Another team member brought her vacuum cleaner down for me to check out. Wound up taking it a part and cleaning it. All is functional now. I spent the rest of the day working on things in the computer.
The wife had to take her Cruze down to the dealership this morning. There's been an issue with one of the tires being low. She's been dealing with this issue for a week now. She wasn't a happy camper when she woke up this morning. She called me and informed me that one of the valve steams was leaking and needed replaced. The Tech's make the fix and did a quick check on the rest of the wheels. She was in a better mood when I got home this evening.
Rodney; Tks for sharing the picture with us. I had a lady from the cafeteria come and see me reference switching jobs from Food Service to Custodian Services today. I called the Director to let her know. I hope this lady doesn't change her mind.
To everyone I hope ya'll had a pleasant day today. Be safe in your travels if you have to get out.
Good morning!!! 62 headed to low 70s, possible showers, partly cloudy, my favorite fishing weather, I really miss a tow vehicle. Shopping day, you know the drill, a great sub for lunch and the more folks I get to run over the bigger the smile. lo I've been asked why I shop in the morning, it's because the fewest people are shopping then, yes, I'm antisocial, especially with the way the world is now.
Donald, hope the lady is able to transfer and works out for you. Good thing you're able to handle the the general work on those machines, I imagine the bill for repair work would be very stiff, you're saving the district money. I don't blame your wife for being upset, I hate spending time in a repair shop, now I don't have a backup vehicle for when this one is in for service, I stuck at home, good thing I live in walking distance of the shop.
Have a great day, be well!!!
Rodney
Howdy from Belton, Texas ~shade
Forecasted temps for Central Texas were 69-95dgrs with 39% humidity with a NE wind @ 7mphs. There's no rain in the upcoming forecast for the next 5 days.
Real quiet day for me at the Fun Farm. I linked up with some electrical contractors first thing this morning. They were here to install some stage lights into the stage floor. We've been waiting on these lights for a year. Made a quick run over to the Grounds Department to drop off my gas can for the Gator. They're the ones that fill up the gas cans for me. After that I spent the rest of the in my office listening to the peace and quiet. No phone or text messages all afternoon.
Rodney; Glad you had a enjoyable morning out shopping and taking the time to enjoy that sub sandwich. Shopping here in the morning is the best time also. Walmart and HEB>Grocery store< aren't crowded between 6am - 8am. Yes sir by me being able to work and fix minor things on our machines helps me save some of my budget. It is expensive and time consuming when I have to call the tech in. Depending on the issue the machine can be gone for several weeks.
I hate it too when the vehicles are in the shop also. Here lately its been between $1000.00 - $2500.00 dollars to get the repairs done. We're set pretty good right now on having a spare vehicle. My daughter left both her Trailblazer and Dodge Ram pickup truck here for us to take care. She's off living and working in Germany for the next 2 -3 or so years.
My good man you and your wife have a relaxing and pleasant evening.
To everyone have a pleasant day tomorrow. Be safe in all the things you have to get done.
Good morning!!! 59 headed to 82, should be mostly sunny and dry. The Queen is gone, long live the Queen, she was a class act all the way. I almost had a quiet peaceful day shopping yesterday, had a dumb woman block aisles in half the store and and ask every stocking person where something was, finally though she left. I had trouble finding the shelf liner my wife wanted, finally fired up the Wegmans app, the one that keeps telling me I'm in Fairfax Virginia even it's set up with GPS, it said to ask a store associate where it is, turns out this store doesn't carry it. The aforementioned app works great if you have an Apple phone, I have an android, even Wegmans admits it sucks on android, go figure. lo The sub, as usual is quite good and tasty. :)
Donald, quiet days are always good. So, you're back on the Gator? Rattlesnake patrol is you?
Have a great day and weekend, be well!!!
Rodney
Greetings from Central Texas 8)
Forecasted temps for the area were 69-93dgrs with 39% humidity with the wind coming in from the E @ 4mphs. There's no rain in the forecast for the next few days.
Another quiet day and I'll take'm ;) Hooked up with the Electricians that are working on the PAC stage. They told me they'll be back in a couple weeks with some additional parts. It was so quiet today I was able to work on my Goal Setting Evaluation today. The school district has decided everyone needs to have a Goal Setting Evaluation. Once you figure out what your Work Related Goals are you have to submit that document to your supervisor. I got mine sent off and she returned it back with her approval. Next week I have to sit down with each one of my team members and fill theirs out. This ought to be interesting.
Tomorrow > Saturday < is planned out already. Going in and knocking out the weekly Time Sheets. The rest of the day will be spent traveling around Central Texas checking out the Market Days Activities. Every Saturday most of the towns around here set up for vendors, live music and of course food. Lots of out of towners come and visit and help out the local economy.
Rodney; No sir, my doctor told me to stay off the Gator and of course my wife keeps tabs on me also. I have (2) 5gal gas cans that we use for the Gator. Once (1) gets emptied I have to take it over to the Grounds Department to get refilled. I now walk around the bldg. and look for the snakes. Last week I found a couple and took care of them.
I finally get to meet my new V.A. Doctor on Tuesday. We're going to figure out what the heck is up with this swelling in the legs etc. I'm just glad there isn't any pain associated with this swelling. ;)
My good man you and the wife have a relaxing and pleasant weekend ahead.
To everyone in the UB Family enjoy the upcoming weekend. Be safe traveling the roadways and out there on the water.
Good morning to everyone,
We're starting the day off with sunny skies. Our forecasted temps are 66-91dgrs with 70% humidity and a N wind @ 12mphs. There's very little chance of any rain moving into our area these next few days.
Yesterday was a really pleasant day spent with the wife at the Georgetown Market Days. We walked around and checked out the vendors then had lunch at our favorite pizza place there. The drive back was relaxing.
I'm off to church here shortly its my month to be the Church Security Officer on duty. We have a 5 person team and we pull duty for a month at a time. We monitor the parking lot and check all the exterior doors to ensure they're locked. We have a local police officer and they provide security & monitor the interior activity. If we have exterior activity going on we call the police officer inside. If the situation warrants they will call for back up from the local police department.
The wife has fixed a pot roast for lunch today with all the fixings. I have a minor fence repair I'm going to take care of after lunch. I'm sure the ole recliner will be calling me by late this afternoon.
To everyone have a very pleasant and relaxing day today. Be safe in your travels if your on the roadways and out on the water.
Good morning!!! 66 headed to 73 or so, off and on rain, it's playing hob with the old arthritis. We had some neighbors over yesterday for eats under the gazebo, my wife made a bean salad and her Mom's BBQ beef, I smoked and partially cooked 2 roasts Saturday, she made a sauce and finished cooking the roasts in it Sunday, we had corn on the cob, Caprese Ensalada Tomato slices with Mozzarella, and Basil leaves, and Extra virgin olive oil drizzled over it. Burp!!!
Donald, sounds like you and Mrs. Donald had a great time. It's a shame we have to lockdown our Churches, you'd think we were back in the first century, at least we aren't being beheaded and killed by the beasts. yet.
Have a great day, be well!!!
Rodney
Good morning guys. Tried to throw a few casts with the kids yesterday, got skunked. But they still had fun. My nephew days he wants a spinning reel now, so thinking of getting him that Zebco Roam combo to start out with. That should be good enough for him at first. Wish things would cool off so I can weld up the frame for my boat floor. (Yes, I have an aluminum welder.

) then just going to lay a sheet of resin sealed plywood w/brown carpet over it. It's just been too dang hot to do anything lately.

Have a great day y'all.

Greetings to everyone,
Beautiful day across Central Texas today. Forecasted temps were 68-91dgrs with 38% humidity and a NE wind @ 4mphs.
Somewhat busy day at the fun farm. The knot heads and lil darlings are at it again. Oh to be able to catch them in the act of destructive behavior ~shade Yesterday morning prior to church I was out checking on things and notice the G3 Boat Cover had a giant rip right down the middle. This had to occur during the night. I got the cover off and the boat was half full of water from all these rain storms.
I turned on the bilge pump and got most of the water out prior to leaving for church. After lunch I got the rest of the water out with the shop vac. I down loaded the entire boat and started drying stuff out. Some of my soft plastic boxes had some water in them. After a couple hours of tinkering around I got everything dried out tackle and clothing wise. Here in the near future there'd be a trip to Academy to buy a new cover.
top; Sharing the day with the kids and watching them fish is what it's all about anyway. Catching fish does make the trip a little better thought. Good luck getting that floor installed. You going to make a posting about the build etc. ?
Rodney; Man that meal sure sounds tasty ~shade Yes sir it is a shame that we have to have security but that's the way it is now days. Back in 2007 when the wife and I went on vacation to Italy we spent a few days in Rome. One of the places we toured was the Colosseum. I was checking out the place and thinking back to the 1st Century and all those people who were killed there. Getting eaten by a lion is not how I would want to go out.
You guys have a relaxing evening and hopefully a pleasant day tomorrow. Be safe if you're out traveling around.
Good morning!!! 59 headed to 69, partly cloudy when it's not all cloudy, showers but tomorrow it changes to dry, sunny and warmer, maybe a couple of days in the low 80s. My arthritis is starting to calm down. I'll be glad when the humidity drops, 30 minutes on the stairmaster when it's 69 degrees but you look like you took a shower in your cloths is a bit much. lo ~bb
Top, must have been a good time with the kids, I remember those days and enjoyed them very much, fish or no fish. I wish we could send some of this cool down to you, of course it would come with rain in tow. lo
Donald, if you could get the parents of the kids involved I bet they would start spending more time with them teaching them right from wrong, maybe apply the rod of learning to the seat of teaching so to speak. Hated it when the cover would rip and everything got soaked. We got hit hard with wet heavy snow one night, took out the cover and windshield, not fun cleaning that mess up, had to get it cleaned up and a new cover in a hurry because more snow was coming.
Have a great day, be well!!!
Rodney
Greetings to all.
Going to be off the site for a few days. I'm in the hospital now. Getting lots of test done . My lower body swelling and high blood pressure got me admitted to the hospital.
Y'all take care I'll holler when I get released. Add me to your daily prayers.

Good morning guys.
Work is moving full steam ahead. I finished planning out my floor subframe, just waiting for the weather to cool off to get it done.

I don't know if it's getting older, or what, but it's been a lot hotter then I recall lately.
Yes, I will be updating my build thread when I restart my project. As always, I look forward to input amd constructive criticism.
Have a great day everyone.

Good morning!!! 47 headed to 71, partly cloudy, the smallmouths are on fire and have been for a while. Shopping day went well, made it through without incident, nobody to run over, they moved my favorite pickle and the app had no idea where they were put, I finally found them, Ba Tempe Garlic Dills, hands down the best pickle known to man. :)IMHO.
Top eagerly waiting for pics of the build.
To all who are out of sorts, prayers are still coming.
Have a great day, be well!!!

Good morning everyone.
Wife's 40th Bday today amd 17yr Wedding Anniversary as well. Says she either wants to go to Seaworld or Universal Studios this upcoming weekend as neither of us have ever been. That should be fun. Just waiting for the weather to cool off a little and then I'll be out on the lake trying to get a few of those Sunshine Bass again. Figured I'd try one (dinner) as my buddy says they're all white, flaky meat.
Hope all have a great day and stay safe.

Donald, hope the Doctors are taking good care of you. Time for you to get home and start mending. Finally had a short chat with Terry G today. He is still a bit tired and having some pain but at least he is home. He has his nights and days out of sync but that too will go away as he is healing. We did not talk very long just wanted to see how he was doing.
Been hot and humid the past few days but fall like temps are promised for the weekend. At least the hurricane is staying far out to sea and not coming to the Carolinas so now we can start watching the next storm popping off the coast of Africa.
Took the Expedition to the Ford dealer today to have the passenger side front electric window repaired. I was gonna do it myself until I watched the video and decided there was just to many doo dads and gizmos that had to be delt with. I thought it was better taken care of by the professionals. I don't like spending the $800 but you gotta do what you gotta do. A repair bill now and then is sure a whole lot better than a car payment. The expedition is 15 years old now and I hope to keep it for many years in the future but repairs will just have to be done. I can get a new one but paying 60-70K for something that is not as good as what I have is not something I want to do. We have not had a car payment for 15 years and don't want one now. The Wife's car is 17 years old and still looks and performs like a new one.
Good morning!!! 57 headed to 75, partly cloudy, boomers expected after dinner. What a busy week, Doctors appointments they're done now, calling around to get the dishwasher repaired, find out I can't buy a new battery for my HP laptop, it's only about 5 years old. I had to call sales to find out there is no replacement battery, support wanted me pay 1$ then 46$ a month to tell me the answer, I flipped out and went to sales and laid a brick load on them, not about not being told I can't buy a new battery from them but that they expected me to pay them to tell me that, they lost a 25 year customer of PCs and printers, I'll be off to cow box or Sony or something. Good news about Donald coming home, hope it's a speedy recovery!!! Looks like the boat is sold, I certainly hope so!!!
Have a great day, be well!!!
Rodney
Today has been one of those days that went to hell in a hand basket. Got the call from the Ford dealer that the electric window was repaired on my expedition and I could pick it up anytime. Went down paid the bill and jumped into the truck tested the window and it works just fine. However the technician put my electric seat all the way back on the drivers side and it would not budge so I could put it back into position. They immediately took the car into the shop and got the seat working so far so good. Then they tested the repaired window one more time and it would go down but not up when using the master control panel on the drivers side but the switch on the passenger side would operate the window just fine. Now they ordered a new switch for the master control and will be in sometime next week. OK I can deal with that but on the way home there was an accident that backed up traffic for several miles so it was a long ride home an inch at a time. Once past the accident I decided to get some gas at a station I saw on the way to pick up the expedition. The price was 3.19 and that was ok although not a cheap as some others. I pulled into the station that I passed by this morning and now the gas was selling for 3.30. WTF I just drove away and will go get gas sometime tomorrow. Some days you can't win for loosing.
Good morning!!! 61 and the temp is headed down, tonight in the 40s, showers mostly cloudy, fall is going to be here tonight. The boat is gone, the driveway behind the gate is empty, took a beating on the price but it's gone, next spring I'll see about getting another.
Bud, I feel you on the type of day you had, fortunately they're not everyday.
Have a great day, be well!!!
Rodney
Good afternoon to everyone,
We're having mostly clear skies across Central Texas today. Forecast for today is 69-96dgrs with 29%humidity and a SE wind at 7mphs.
Guys thanks for all the prayers sent up for me while in the hospital. I'm home now and doing good. Long stories short> Fluid built up in my entire body from my kidneys over producing protein. High blood pressure brought on by the fluid build up. Lots of testing conducted as well as almost 30tubes of blood drawn. All test done on the Heart, Lungs and Liver came back Negative all systems functioning as they should. Kidney tests came back with a small cist on one of the kidneys. This cist didn't cause the swelling or the excess protein production. The Kidneys are functioning normal for the most part. They did a biopsy on the kidneys and the results haven't come back yet.
I weight in at the Emergency Room 306lbs, yesterday at discharge time I weighted out at 285.2lbs. I had lost 21lbs of fluids during my 8 days stay. There's still some swelling but with the med's they gave me it will decrease it and will go away with time. I have (6) different meds I have to take now (2) are for Blood Pressure; (1) for high Cholesterol; (1) to make me piss more to get the excess fluids out of my system. There's (1) for my Arthritis and (1) Low dose Aspirins. My doctors are going to call me once the biopsy results come back.
During the stay one of the doctors went back in time and checked my Right Knee's > MRI < come to find out I have Tendinitis in my Right Knee. There's (2) tears in the muscles around my knee. I wasn't aware of this. So the next time my Left Knee pain flares up I'm going to request an MRI.
This was the first time ever that I've been in a hospital > No Kidding < For the most part I've been blessed with extremely good health. It was interesting to say the least in the scheduling; doctors visits and round the clock checks the nurses did. My typical day was 4:30am blood draw; Night shift Nurse update med's, blood pressure; final check 5am. Breakfast 7am; Day shift nurse check 8:30am; 1st Primary doctor's check in 9am with 2nd Kidney doctor's check > I had 2 doctors. I had mid afternoon checks and prior to the evening coming both doctors would check in prior to going home. Once the Night Shift Nurse came on she would stop in and preform a quick check also. There was a Midnight Check also. I was averaging 7 - 11hrs a sleep each day. My wife was there every day from 5am - 7 / 8pm.
Its back to work on Monday. I did spent some time thinking about my retirement while in the hospital. I have 2 dates in mind we'll just see how things play out this Fall. I just might start the New Year off being unemployed. The second date is I'll finish out this school year then pack it on the last day. We'll see what happens.
Rodney; Glad you were finally able to sell the boat. To bad you didn't get what you wanted for it. But now you can start searching on line for that New Boat ;)
Bud; Wow, that sure was a sux'd up day. Sorry to hear all that occurred. I've had days like that also with the vehicles I got just a few months ago. Gas here in Belton / Temple area ranges $ 2.99 > $ 3.07 for unleaded. You were so right man, there's a whole new diet plan to flow now :(
Guys again can't say thank you enough for the prayers. Ya'll have a relaxing evening and a better day tomorrow. It feels great to be back at home ~shade
Donald glad you are back home. Sounds like you will have some lifestyle changes ahead. Good luck with considering you possible future retirement. It may be time for you to slow down and enjoy your golden years a bit. I know it is quite a change but trust me when I say once you make your adjustments it is a really great thing. If you worry about being bored it would only be because of not spending enough time on yourself and your family. I am busy doing something on most days. Retirement is all about time management because it will be your biggest commodity. Time to go have some fun.
It was a hot one again today at the beach. Current pm temp is 94 and calm winds but a big change will be happening overnight. This first day a fall is ushering in some cool weather overnight with expected lows by Friday morning of 59 degrees and a high tomorrow of 75. This fall like weather will continue through the weekend. I plan on mowing the lawn in the morning and then making a trip to the recycle center to make a deposit then we have to get ready for a yard sale in our community this Saturday. We have a couple items to sell or give away but not a whole lot this time. My man room has been reorganized including the tred mill that has been taking up space for a few years. The only thing it has been good for lately is to stash some of my junk that now also has been removed. Time now to start thinking about getting the painting done that has been on my honey do list for a couple years. Today the wife had me fixing some grout on the tile floor at the front door and then beginning to repair a drawer in my dresser. I did gas up the expedition as planned today at 3.06 per gallon. I see a lot of stations in our area have upped their prices to the 3.25 level. This all kind of happened overnight. I think I am done with tasks for today with the only thing remaining is to fix supper tonight. All we are having is some chicken pot pie so this will be a simple easy supper.
Donald I was surprised to hear your 306 weight number. Just how tall are you anyway. Maybe you are not underweight maybe you are just too short. LOL
Good morning!!! 47 headed to 57, partly cloudy, should be dry. Taking the car in for an oil change and shot of BG 44K, the check engine light is on, it's because it doesn't get driven enough to fully warm up and clean the cat converter, I'm going to have to put some miles on it to clean the converter out.
Bud, any plans to float the Ranger? We need to do a garage sale, we have a bunch of stuff to get rid of, a lot will be donated.
Donald, good to have you back!!! I hear you about when to retire, I'm sure you'll pick the right date, you won't have to deal with the little darlings after that. I got enough to pickup a boat but I don't have a tow vehicle. We've decided to wait till the cost comes down on used vehicles, it's outrageous right now but there are signs it's starting to change. I've seen 3 or 4 year old vehicles being sold for more than what they cost new, My daughter bought a new car a Subaru, she has about a 3 month wait, she wanted a new Toyota Highlander but the wait is over a year, she has a 2007 Highlander with about 250,000 miles on it, she does quite a bit of driving going to different mountains to climb. I was told that I have to wait til November to start injections in my lower back for the arthritis, it's an inch or so below where the surgery was. The surgery worked on the stenosis and bulged disc, I'm able to stand and walk and do my workout at the gym but when the weather is right I'm still in a fair amount of pain, sure will be glad to get the injections. I need to call my shoulder guy, the injection lasted about 2 weeks, looks I'll get a new one, not looking forward to it but it beats the alternative, I'm going to be brand new when I die. lo
Have a great day, be well!!!
Rodney
Good afternoon from Belton, Texas 8)
Beautiful sunny day with forecasted temps of 69-99dgrs with 30% humidity and a SE wind at 11mphs.
Somewhat busy day today. I made the trip to DMV this morning to get the Daughter's pickup truck re-registered in her name. It was in Dwayne's name. He's doing well working on the North Slope. He's back down in Anchorage now for 2 weeks.
My Daughter is doing well working over in Stuttgart, Germany.
The wife and I took in a movie this morning afterwards it was a quick shopping trip to Walmart. I dropped the wife off at home and went and got my monthly hair cut. While gone she fixed supper, we're having sloppy joes, French fries (-) salt and some cold slaw. Tomorrow morning early I'm heading into the office to knock out the time sheets. The rest of Saturday will be spent in Fredericksburg, Texas attending a show at the Rock Box Theater. There's a Tribute Band called the Highway Men. Hopefully they sing as good as Waylon, Willie, Johnny and Krist.
Rodney; So how was your Thursday shopping day? Fun filled and exciting as always. Sorry to hear about that darn Check Engine Lights they can be a PIA. I hear ya also about the prices of used vehicles. Just like you mentioned they're not much cheaper than a new one down here. November is around the corner and hopefully your arthritis pain won't be out of control too bad till then. Good luck with getting the doctor to get you fixed up prior to the cold winter setting in.
Bud; I'm 6ft 2in here lately my weight has be hovering around 280 - 285lbs. My BMI results is 36.6. I need to loose some weight and I know with changing my diet etc. it will. I feel pretty good at around 260lbs.
I'm looking forward to hanging it up and enjoying more time with the wife etc. I know that Time Management will be important as it was when I came home from Iraq in 2011. I just have to find things to keep me busy. I'm not one to sit around and watch a lot of TV.
Guys you and your wife's have a really pleasant weekend ahead. Be safe out on the roadways if ya'll traveling.
Donald maybe you will finally get to enjoy some of the mid week fishing. Certainly a lot more pleasant than those crowded weekends or holidays. We also catch a move mid week usually about noon or so and then stop for a bite to eat somewhere. It is just nice not having to cram everything into the weekends.
Good morning from Central Texas
We're starting the day off with Blue Bird Skies and forecasted temps of 69-97dgrs with 93%humidity and a SE wind @ 4mphs. There's no rain in the upcoming 10 day forecast.
Yesterday was a really pleasant day for the wife and I. We had good traveling weather as we drove down to Fredericksburg, TX. We had lunch at one of our new favorite restaurants there in town. The Rock Box Theater Tribute Band Show The Highwaymen was an excellent event. The band did a great job of performing songs from Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, Johnny Cash and Kris Kristofferson.
We're off to church here shortly. Lunch has yet to be determined. Got a couple Honey Do's to knock out this afternoon. The wife wants the Trail Blazer washed and cleaned out. She wants a shower hook installed so she can hang a rack that hold shampoo etc. on in the shower. Other than that I'll be relaxing in the recliner. It's back to work tomorrow.
Bud; I remember those days and I'm looking forward to them again. I've been working for the school district for 8 yrs. now and it's time to move on. I only took this job to have something to do with my time as I wasn't ready to fully retire.
Rodney, Top, and everyone else; Hope yawls weekend is going well for ya.
To everyone have a pleasant and relaxing Sunday and week ahead. Be safe in your travels if your out and about. Tight lines for those hitting the water.
Another beautiful day here at the beach. Currently temp is 80 with a light N breeze keeping things cool and with low humidity. Just kinda doing some odds and ends things today to begin some early prep for the tropical activity that may come this way late this week. Mostly expected to be a rain event but the storm track is not yet defined enough to make any real plans. I will be putting out a couple flood barriers tomorrow to keep the ditch behind the house from getting close to the house if it rains enough in a short period to over flow the ditch.
Greetings to all,
Beautiful day across Central Texas today. Forecasted temps were 56-88dgrs with 22% humidity and a NE wind @ 14mphs
It was return back to the Fun Farm this morning. Spent just about all day catching up on Computer stuff. Our IT department switched from Outlook to Gmail while I was gone. It's a whole new animal with the layout etc. I think I got most of the stuff down. Tomorrow I need to figure out how to scan documents from the copier back to my computer.
I got a new Team Member assigned while I was gone. She's going to work out Great. This lady worked with us during the Summer Cleaning. Now if I could just get those other (4) positions filled.
Stopped by and picked up some flowers and gift card for the wife. Tomorrow is our 47th Wedding Anniversary. I've sure been lucky having her has my wife.
Bud; We're enjoying that Northern front down here in Texas also. I hope the tropical activities by pass yawls place. You and the wife have a pleasant evening ahead.
Good afternoon guys. Hasn't been a lot going on, just work and sleep..
To anyone on our (FL) west coast, central and panhandle, stay safe.

Another Chamber of Commerce day here on the Grand Strand. Noticed the past week that the Air Force has been doing some practice flights in our area. One day was mostly C-130 doing low level touch and go at the airport and for the past couple days the Fighter Jets F-16 have been roaring in the skies overhead. We also will see AWACS aircraft from time to time. Summer we often see Osprey aircraft from the NC marine base Camp Lejeune but haven't seen them for a while now. Some folks are saying that Shaw AFB may be getting some F35s in the near future to replace the F-16s
Looks like we will miss most of the tropical storm but will get quite a bit of rain and some gusty winds but not much. Unless the storm changes course again we should be just fine. I do worry about the Florida gulf coast folks however. Gonna be real ugly near Tampa.
Good morning!!! 54 headed to 62, cloudy, showers<ugh. :surrender: This is my worse time of year for arthritis, I woke up on a heating pad and moved it to my shoulders before back to the lower back, I made a call to the shoulder Doc yesterday, I see next Monday, we'll decide about what to do, it'll be replacement he told me that last fall when we did x-rays, hopefully before the holidays. When I have a replacement use the family leave act and Wegmans is generous with the program. If the surgery is before the Holidays she will have the time to do her baking for the family and gifts for others. Yes, she'll have to take care of me but more time will be spent waiting for a need and I'll be on drugs and out of it a lot of the time. lo I don't want it but if it's a choice between not being able to do anything for the rest of my life or getting back in the swing of things guess which I take. I'm most grateful for they can do now.
Bud, how long before you float the boat? Enjoy the air "show", I've marveled at the skill of the pilots when I've been able to see them.
Donald, back into the fray again eh. Always fun when management changes things that were just fine. lo Hope the new lady works out well. We had a get together Sunday to celebrate her 50th birthday, ate quite well. The usual snacks to start with, then angel hair pasta with pesto sauce, breaded veal cutlets followed by salad then cheesecake, raspberry swirl it was great.
Have a great day, be well!!!
Rodney
Well, off work tomorrow with pay, so I'll be sleaping the whole day.
FD, stay safe through the storm, along with anyone else in the path.

Good evening to all
Beautiful sunny Texas day today. Our forecasted temps were 57-88dgrs with 19% humidity and an E wind @ 9mphs. Still no rain in the upcoming forecast.
Today the wife and I celebrated our 47th Wedding Anniversary ~c~ I'm so blessed to have her as my wife ;) We stopped in at Clem's BBQ and had a very simple meal after I got off work. We're back at home relaxing now ~shade
It was pretty quiet at the Fun Farm. The kids are gearing up to take the S.A.T. exam this coming Saturday morning. The body swelling continues to go down slowly. The med's they gave me are working. I start having follow up appointments next week. Hopefully the kidney biopsy report will have some good news for me.
Top; Enjoy the day off tomorrow.
Rodney; Tks for the update on your shoulder. I hope the doctor has a good plan for you. Sorry to hear about your Arthritis fairing up again. Those meals you have are sure tasty sounding.
Bud; Air Shows, I've always thought they were great. Living in Alaska they had them every year. They were actually a Combine Military Show. The Army put together some things and made a lot of LOUD BOOMS. The surrounding communities always had a great time coming to them.
Glad to hear your area is going to miss that tropical storm. My daughter has a place in Tampa. I'm glad she's not down there now. She's working overseas in Stuttgart, Germany.
Alrighty you all have a pleasant day tomorrow. Be safe if you have to get out.

Good morning!!! 54 headed to 58, cloudy, showers, blah, ugh, ~rain :surrender:. At this rate the trees will all look like aspens, a wind will come up and the leaves will drop leaving a wonderful view of bare trees. lo Not much going on, hit the gym, and heating pad for the back and shoulder, my sugar is fluctuating which tells me the pancreas is slowing down and the time for insulin is around the corner, normal I've had a great run with the pills, I'll see how long I can keep going without but I can't complain. My wife has relatives that moved to Florida in the last couple of years, new homes and all that, they're in the forecasted path, some have left some are waiting it out, we're praying and keeping in touch.
Top, day off, how's that happen, must be a hurricane.
Donald, good news that the swelling is going down. Congrats on the anniversary, it's becoming rare for marriages to last as long as yours, Buds and mine. Yep, we usually go out for dinner and then relax on our anniversaries, maybe a day trip but that's it. We're fortunate to have married the women we have. So are you coming closer to a decision about when you retire?
Have a great day, be well!!!

Good evening to all from Belton, Texas 8)
The forecasted temps for across Central Texas today were 58-89dgrs with 19% humidity and a S wind @ 5mphs. There's no real threat of any rain in the forecast for the next 10 days.
Quiet day at the Fun Farm. I spent most of the day learning this new dang computer program we got forced fed ??? Had a meeting with my supervisor today. She asked me about retiring. I gave her a date of the end of Dec 22. I also informed her that it might change depending on my future medical appointments. She told me to pick someone I would think could be my replacement and start training them. So tomorrow I'll sit down 2 of my hard working ladies and have a chat with them.
Drove across Belton Dam on the way home from work. The lake is now at 10ft below Summer pool. There's lots of under water >used to be< hazards out there running up the Leon River and Cowhouse Creek. I doubt you could even get a Bass Boat up into the actual creek itself right now.
Rodney; I remember watching the Aspens turn colors while we lived in Alaska. Seeing them turn colors we knew snow wasn't that far behind. You ole gym rat ~bb glad to hear that you're still able to get out and push yourself.
Thanks for the anniversary congrats. I was lucky in getting her to be my wife. We went together for 2 yrs before we got married.
Top; Tks for the anniversary congrats. Hope you day off was relaxing.
Guys ya'll have a relaxing evening with your families. Be safe in your travels if your out and about. I have all you Florida UB members in my daily prayers during this hurricane
situation.
Good Evening Everyone, Both me and the wife have been sick. My headache meds seem to not be working anymore. I wish I had met my wife years ago. We've been together ten years and married 5.
Donald, Belated Anniversary. That's good the swelling is going down.
Prayers to those in Florida.
Good morning!!! 46 headed to mid 50s, partly cloudy, supposed to be dry. Not much going on, I picked up my sub yesterday in preparation for lunch today, my wife needs the car this morning so my shopping will be after lunch. She got home from being out with her best friend for dinner and said I could have the car this morning just a bit later than my normal time, figures. lo
Our prayers go out to you!!!
Bassmedic, good to hear from you, I know how you feel about your wife, we celebrate our 51st in a couple of months and I'd do it all over again.
Donald, so the school knows you're short timing it and they want you to train your replacement, hope they give her support. It looks like we have a dry day today, it's a nice change watching the tv this morning I'll stay where I am, I can deal with snow. lo These storms remind me just how small I am in the scheme of things, it's humbling to know there's not much you can do but hang on and pray.
have a great day, be well, pray for those in Florida!!!
Rodney
Good evening from Central Texas (Belton) ~shade
Groundhog Day weather wise. Forecasted temps were 56-90dgrs with 25%humidity an E wind @ 6mphs.
It was quiet at the Fun Farm. I got a new person today which will begin working immediately. She used to work at one of the other schools and decide to take a break. Her break is over now and she's ready to get back after it. I like getting these types of people I don't have to spend a lot of time training them. I have a meeting with her at 1:30pm tomorrow. I'll explain to her my way of doing business and show her around the school. I met with 2 of my ladies today and decided on which one I was going to train. Tomorrow we'll start training her to be my replacement.
Rodney; Good day sir, I see your Thursday routine had a wrench thrown in it. Glad you were able to make it out and get that lunch time sub. I haven't told the principal yet of my future plans. I'll do that the first part of Dec. I'll more than likely tell my wife this weekend also that I'm done at the end of Dec.
Bassmedic; I have you and your wife in my daily prayers buddy. Hope you and the wife get to feeling better real soon. Tks for the Anniversary Congrats also.
Guys and everyone else I hope the evening is a relaxing one. Ya'll be safe out there especially if you're out traveling.
Good morning!!! 37 headed to 60 or so, partly cloudy, another dry day. We've been cutting down the hedgerow between our house and one next to us, his wife died about 5 years back and he hasn't touched it since, it's rubbing against our house. He hasn't mowed his yard since either, I did his front yard for a couple of years but my back got bad enough I struggled to do ours so I had to stop, he finally got someone else to do it. The pushing and pulling on the hedgerow gets to me and I have to stop but I'll have it done before snow flies.
Donald, so now you get an experienced person, at least you don't need to spend much time training her. good the you have someone you trust to takeover for you. I'm sure your wife will be very happy when you tell her, you'll also have more time for fishing as well as spending time with her, good deal all the way around.
Have a great day, be well, pray for our nation!!!
Rodney
The storm is mostly over and has moved inland. Winds currently in the 20s with gusts in the low 30s and a very light rain that will be over around 6pm. Nice weather day on tap for tomorrow although there will still be a bit breezy tomorrow morning. So. it appears we dodged another bullet so to speak.
Donald happy you decided to jump back into retirement. I sincerely hope you are ready for the retired lifestyle this time. I love being retired although I do miss not having a lot of extra money but that is not a big deal. We all adapt and overcome as we move into a more laid back life. Now you can be like the rest of us who sometimes forgets what day it is. LOL
Good evening from Sunny and Dry Central Texas ~shade
Forecasted temps today were 52-84dgrs with 26%humidity with an E wind at 6mphs. There's no rain in site for the near future.
Spent the morning working on the computer and updating personnel rosters. Had a productive meeting with my newest Team Mate. She's going to work out just fine. Tomorrow schedule is full with an early morning run to the office to knock out the time sheets. My yearly resupply of CPAP Equipment is sitting at the post office waiting to be picked up. The weather is going to be great for an afternoon Crusader Football game. Relaxation will be on the schedule afterwards.
Bud; Tks for the storm update. Yes sir it's time to become fully retired. I'm ready now and I won't be looking back after it occurs. I'm looking forward to forgetting what day it is lo
Rodney; Hedge trimming etc. That's not fun work either. I helped out at church removing a bunch of hedges. The first group we pulled them up with a tow strap. Lots of dirt mess to clean up etc. Second time around I brought my chain saw and we cut them down just below the surface of the dirt. It was a lot faster and easier loading the plants into the trailer. Of course my chain on the saw was shot but I didn't care.
I'm going to tell the wife this weekend that my retirement will be at the end of Dec. I know she's going to be happy. She's been after me now for a while. I'm ready to get after it now ;)
You guys have a very pleasant weekend ahead with you families. Bud be careful with the clean up. Don't over do the bending etc.
To everyone have a safe and pleasant weekend ahead. I have everyone in my daily prayers.
UH OH So you gonna tell the wife this weekend. Look out now, The Honey Do List is about ready to go into high gear once you give her the word. ~roflmao
Greetings to all from Belton, Texas 8)
It is a beautiful day across Central Texas today. Lots of sun and a mild wind blowing out of the NE. Forecasted temps today are 52- 84dgrs with 20% humidity and a NE wind @ 8mphs.
Had a few errands to deal with this morning; Time Sheets checked and turned in; Small Gym Floor vacuumed and cleaned with a riding floor scrubber; Picked up the mail from UPS store; Picked up (6) cases of water from Walmart; Washed the truck at the local car wash and mowed and trimmed the back yard. All tasks completed by 10am with a shower taken the wife and I went to Subway for lunch. The Crusaders Football game kicked off at 2pm and was over around 4:30ish with a win. We're both home now and relaxing.
Bud; I told the wife while we were having lunch. She just looked at me and asked me "Are you sure" ? I told her yep and the end of Dec will be it. Well she told me not to tell anyone for a couple weeks in cased I changed my mind. I told her I wasn't changing my mind. As we were walking to the truck after the football game she told me once I retire we can go on walks in the mornings. I said yes we can ;)
I already know a couple items that will be on the Spring Honey Do list>>Our lower back deck needs re-staining. I'm sure by Spring there will be more added to that list lo
You and your wife have a relaxing Saturday Evening. Hope there wasn't a big mess for you to clean up following the hurricane coming through.
