had to leave the house this afternoon. so drug the boat over to Chester Frost and spent some time on Chickamauga.
Water temps are warm. 86°F. Clarity is good. about 2 to 2.5 feet. slight stain. Not worried about TVA pulling current today as I stayed and focused only on the real shallow sloughs. all my fish came out of 2 feet or less. all but one on the horny toad (green pumpkin pearl was the preferrred flavor). started partly cloudy and cleared up at end. wind was nominal, but the slight breezes, when they were there were sure appreciated!
no giants. just a great day to mindlessly go chunkin' and windin' working the toad through the pondweed. sizes ranged from 15 up to one that might have pushed 19... most in the 16 to 17 inch class. good 2 - 2.25 lb bass.
this was first of the day. 3:30. clear blue skies. seriously sunny. less than two feet of water.
yessir. that is a mustad EWG ultrapoint 5/0 sticking through the cheek. 30# braid. 7ft 5inch MH XF rod.

CF, sounds like a GREAT trip. Tks for sharing the details and of course that picture ;)
doing more of this over the 3-day weekend. focus will be on half day on the water... the other half 'suffering' through my workout routine (weights, swimming) as I try to regain my 'girlish figure'.
guess that means more reports to come. hopefully WITH photos!
;D
