I want to pick up a spinning rod for mainly shakey head, also neko rig and maybe heavier drop shot. I am looking at the kaden 713 or champion xp 703. Is the champion that much more sensitive than the Kaden. I was also looking at the Sierra 703 as well.
The Sierra 703 is a nice rod for say #10 lb. braid mainline + #8 lb. FC leader as it has a slightly slower more parabolic action than the Champion or Kaden (which have faster tips) . For Shakey heads the Kaden 713 would be great as would the Champion XP 703 - especially for straight FC main line . I use a Sierra 703 for Shakey heads , Wacky Rigs , Neko Rigs and a Sierra 702 for Drop Shot . *I use the Sierras because my spinning reels are Braid + FC leader , I use Hi - Viz yellow mainline , I keep my index finger on the line and lastly I have fast reflexes , so the Sierra line is perfect for me with it's slightly slower action tip .
If you go Champion, get the 733SF.
The Kaden 743 is right in the same feel as the Champion 733. It is way under rated. I use it for Lake Erie smallies and it hasn't let me down.
