Title: Light at the end of the tunnel
Post by: geneinnc on March 11, 2021, 04:07:40 PM
I got my baby back home last night. Still a lot of work. I have to mount the Ultrex but I got most of the Motor Guide removed.

I have the stack mount for the Lowrance and the Panoptic on the bow. I'm not sure yet how to mount the console units. I don't know yet if my 3 cell charger is working. It got doused when it was away from home so long. Luckily it as under deck ventilation and I've got every hatch open. It shouldn't take long with the warm wind howling. Hopefully I'll be done next week.
I'm still a bit intimidated by the Tohatsu. I guess it has to be big to house the Honda Accord engine.

Last thing is take it to the battery shop and test all the batteries. If there's any question they will get changed.

Thank you. It's been a roller coaster. Finding a dual dash mount is giving me fits! I can get by with the ram mount and run one unit until I figure it out but I would love to finish it the way I want it.

I got my dual console mount from TW called "PROcise Outdoors Dek-It Dual Electronics Mounts".
I just got one from the same brand for my bow mounts which I will be installing this weekend  ;D

Congrats on the motor, I was afraid we had lost you there for a while  ~sweat

Can't wait to hear about your first bass on the boat with new power!!!

We got the Ultrex mounted, only after that behemoth got away and nailed me when it fell. That huge foot pedal whiplashed and took 3 chunks out of my shin. Very lucky it didn't break anything. Not sure if I'll feel like taking it out tomorrow.
Progress, progress.

I'm still having trouble with my onboard charger. I can hear it but the led lights aren't working. I'm open to suggestions on a new one. I've basically redone the old girl so I'm getting impatient on anything that's going to hold me back.

Hopefully I'll have the Lowrance and Garmin stack units finished this weekend.

Getting close!

I had pretty much surrendered Mike. Had my wife not stepped in and told me to buy the new motor I would have. She's definitely a keeper!

I'm done for a while. I'm so shot I'm afraid I'll make a mistake.

Guys, the Str8-Up Mount is a real bargain at $140! I had to get a couple of good metal bits to handle 8 holes. I'm guessing aircraft aluminum.

I have to mount the puck GPS and I think that's it for the Ultrex.

I have to mount the console fish finders when the mount gets here, and wire the 2 Garmin units plus the Livescope black box.

I'm definitely down to the short list. You must have missed the post about the motor falling and the cable fired the foot pedal assembly dead center on my shin. QUITE the job indeed! That's what us can't afford a pro install guys put up with!
