Title: SeaClear and SonarPros Wiring Harness
Post by: CraigP83 on November 23, 2020, 09:15:22 AM
Does anyone have experience with these custom wiring harnesses that are popping up? SeaClear and Sonar Pros seem to be the more popular ones. They run about $250 but apparently reduce interference and speed up your graphs.

I was considering getting one because I've had interference and power issues on my 800 series bow graph and was playing with the idea of putting a Helix 10 up front and getting mega 360.

I take it nobody has seen or has experience with these types of wiring harnesses?

I for one haven't. It sounds interesting, but would have to be mighty top quality for me to bite.

All I know of them is what I have seen on YouTube. No first hand experience. I would be interested in knowing how they would be worth that cost though!

Here's an explanation. Yes they are expensive but when you're spending thousands in graphs why skimp on performance. I think I'm going to research a little more. If I buy one I'll post a review. I was really hoping someone here had experience with them

There are several of these wiring harnesses out there. I dont have any experience with any of them so what im posting is my personal opinion and no expert.

As for interference, i would doubt that a bigger wire would get rid of it.  As for power, yes a bigger wire can help with higher voltage. I also think they make it easier for guys that are not sure what/how to do wiring or someone that doesnt want to mess with ordering parts and putting it all together.....one can order wiring, supplies, etc. cheaper but its to easy to get a harness.

I bought my own supplies and redid some wiring and it did bump up the voltage on my units. I bought a Blue Sea on/off switch, Blue Sea fuse box, 10ga wire (battery to fuse box) and 12ga wire for accessories. Installation was easy, just time consuming but was done right.

In the end, its how you look at it and is it worth it.
