Hi All,
I have a solix on console and a solix on bow. On my console i was losing bottom: suspected the transducer. I was going to test whether losing bottom was a transducer, or, the console solix head unit.
I was going to swap the bow and console head units to see if I could discern whether it was the head unit or transducer (as expected).
However, the bow unit wont power up. Not sure why, turned on several days ago? Batteries all topped off? Everything powers up except this bow solix unit and my Talons? Does this have to do with a cloud update on talons?
Any recommendations?
I don't see how an update can prevent power up, communication sure but not power up. I'd suspect a circuit breaker somewhere.
Most manufactures put all electronics on the main cranking battery so that the trolling motor feedback doesn't cause issues and the cranking battery is constantly recharged by the big motor. Make sure the cranking battery is good. I don't know about the talons but the electronics need at least 11 volts to fire up.
First thing to check is do you have power to the units? A cheap voltmeter is worth keeping on the boat.
Sounds like your auto reset circuit breaker may be bad. Check for power to the units with a volt meter.

If you have checked all the above double check the grounds. Grounds, or more properly stated poor grounds, cause some insanely crazy things to happen or not happen.
Yeah What they all said.
Also make sure your Connections on the back of the unit are all tight and connected correctly.
Power at Unit.

In That Order for me.
As Jim said, you need to see if you have power to the units at the units, if so then you need to see if there is a reset button.
