Good to hear that a piece of advice helped. Open to share what helped you?

Question, looking at your picture, why so much hardware? Meaning, why the snap swivel? Is this how you were fishing before?

Congrats on the catch.  ~beer~

I used the advice given on what colors to use. I started paying attention to water color more and actually I was wrong. Most the ponds are fairly clear. So I went by the guide given on what colors to use and started catching more fish. I also took the advice of fishing deeper. I started hitting the deepest parts of the pond and got better results. Bigger fish also. .

On the swivel, I just have 1 rod and reel so I use it so i can swap out baits quicker. I know it takes away some but every morning I fish topwater then go to a Niko rig. Well, I was doing that. I lost my frog the other day so I'll have to wait til I can get another one but that's why i have the swivel. Does it spook the fish more?

Happy to hear the color and depth adjustments helped.

As far as the hardware, I'm a minimalist. The added hardware takes out the natural appearance and movement of some lures, plus its susceptible to hanging up on vegetation imho. Snot grass quickly comes to mind. Some anglers use speed clips to change out their lures. These clips for example, have a smaller footprint when compared to snap swivel.
