Title: Speed Transducer set up w/ Helix 7
Post by: Nitro89872 on September 11, 2020, 02:36:27 PM
I have a Helix 7 GPS SI G2 and I am trying to get my speed thru-hull transducer to work. If I plug in the transom ducer it work fine. If I put the Y cable on and connect the two I do not get any depth reading at all. Can someone help me with this please?

Thanks

You can have a few things that are not correct:

1. Incomplete connection to the Y cable, the transducer plugs have to be inserted far enough so the plugs lock together. LOOK at the Y cable plugs and note the two tabs, those have to snap into the two holes in the transducer plugs.

2. Faulty Y cable----"stuff happens"

3. The shoot-thru transducer is weak or your installation is not correct. Did you do a pre-test  so you would know how it performed BEFORE you attached the transducer to the hull?

4. Did you get the correct shoot-thru transducer---XP 9 20?

Have replaced y cable 2 times and they are locked in.

Did protest and the speed ducer work fine.

I had the regular ducer first and then went to the one with the temp probe. Xp 9 20 t model. Both work before putting on y cable.

If the shoot-thru works OK when it is connected to the display by itself, keep replacing the Y cable until you get one that works. Humminbird should get the ones back that don't work.
