Absolutely, sometimes I get so wrapped up in the tournament game that I lose sight that I am fishing...

I think that every once in a while we all need to grab a pile (maybe even a cane pole), a couple bobbers and go dig up some night crawlers and just go sit on a bank and watch that bomber for hours like we did when we were kids.
If you can't bring yourself to do it on your own then take a kid fishing !
That may be the second best tip of all.
