Title: MM33 where is it?
Post by: RangerAndBass on February 27, 2018, 09:31:48 AM
As a seasonal resident, I hear everyone using names for spots & places I can't find on maps.
I am maybe going to join a club & it has a tourney coming up on MM33. Can anyone tell me where that is & where the launch would be?

MM33 ramp is on the North side, off Alligator alley. (I-75 N)

You're getting some really awesome answers here. Maybe I can put a little context here. Mm 35 is also the Miami River Canal. This canal goes all the way up to lake okeechobee. So it goes north and south and is perpendicular to i75 . If you map it you'll find a big rest area on the south and north and middle of I75. There is a fire station there.

So mm 33 would be 2 miles east of that.

The ramps are on the Alley at MM30, MM32, MM35. MM39, and MM41.  The numbers go up as you drive west.  MM35 has several ramps in several locations all at the big stop.  Some ramps on the south side, and some on the north side.  There are also ramps further west on the Indian Property.  All ramps are concrete, and all ramps are in pretty good shape.  Good luck out there, it has been hit and miss, but the water is dropping and it should get real crazy before long.

Ranger, here's a quick google search of the map of the area we are talking about.

^^^^^  Along this route ^^^^^ you are going to see the MM signs as you travel East to West on Alligator Alley. As you approach MM 33 you will see a simple rest stop with a boat ramp. Once you are on Alligator Alley these ramps are pretty hard to miss. Good luck on your tournament.

Gee, a real answer, not a smart-ass one. Thanks George for trying to help him (and Rick also).  Can be confusing if you don't know the area.

Lou also. That helped me and I've fished out there for 40 years.

I loved the smart ass answers. Made me laugh.  Thanks for help though. When a local says MM33, I thought he was naming a specific canal.

Canals down here have the prefix "L-" or "C-"  followed by a number. For example  L-67.
