Title: Trout on the fly
Post by: ItsJason on October 08, 2017, 07:16:21 PM
Hey all, thought I'd share some pics of today's trip. Besides bass, I really enjoy fly fishing for trout. And with the weather getting colder and colder, the bass are turning off and the trout turning up! Went out for about 3 hours today, probably landed somewhere between 20-30 fish.

Great report & pics!  ~c~ ~c~ ~c~

What general area were you fishing? The pics looks like you may be in the west?

Most of the fly fishing that I do is for bass. It's been a few years since I've had the chance to target some trout.

My wife & I are planning to go visit my oldest son & his wife & our grand kids for Christmas. They're in CA near San Francisco & I'm hoping to get to do some trout fishing while we're out there.  :)

Beautiful fish and great day, our weather still too warm for trout but I can't wait for trout bite. I've been doing smallies on fly rod lately to scratch the fly rod itch.

Thanks! My wife wants to spend about a month in CA. Looks like the Reno area is a bit over 3 hours drive. Probably not a trip I'll want to make. I drive more than I want now. ( tractor trailer driver)  :(

I passed thru that area earlier this year, traveling from San Mateo to Denver. and will likely get out there some this coming year.  :-*

Beautiful fish and pictures!

My thoughts exactly.
Nice going ItsJason   ~c~

The trout season is just starting where I am also. I had a few casts last week, but it's still a little bit too warm still.
