Title: Millers Ferry Sept. 18-20
Post by: fishingram24 on September 21, 2017, 04:52:17 PM
John and I spent 3 days on Millers Ferry catching 45 keepers total with biggest fish going 3.2 pounds with most from 1.5 to 2 pounds. Had never fished it in September or in 90 degree weather so it was a learning experience for us. Water moved very little each day,18-19 feet at the Selma, and surface temps ranged from 80 to 84 degrees and visibility was about 2'. White 3/8 oz. spinner baits, SK 4XD crank baits and several plastic creature baits caught all our fish. Spinner bait fish were in 6' or less in a smaller creek while the crank bait produced on deeper edges of the river channel. Hope to go back a couple of times before the end of the year in some cooler weather but still had a good trip with an old friend.

Great memories, John and I have been fishing together for almost 40 years, both tournament and fun, and every trip is an adventure. I just really prefer cooler temps the older I get, 90+ degree days are not as fun as they once were.

I started wade fishing a lot this summer, it really helps to keep one cool. Plus it expanded my bank access. However, I can only do that in certain lakes and ponds down heah in Flawda.  ~gator
