Title: Lake Anna "Hot Side"
Post by: RushFan on July 06, 2017, 09:16:30 PM
Spending some time at Lake Anna "Hotside/Privateside" next week.  Does anyone have experience or thoughts on this side?  Given that the discharge temp of the nuke plant is about 103 degrees and rest of the lake is about 87-92.  I would expect deeper water but like some help with more productive creeks and eliminate dead water.

Rushfan - did you have any luck? We are going down the week of 23 July. We do this every year about the same time - really just to rent a big house and spend time with friends and family - but we get out every morning and every evening before it gets too hot. Just wondering what happened for your week. Past years have been very slow but have caught a few on carolina rigs, shaky heads and when they are hitting the surface in the evening, a loud topwater.

Early or late, found very back of creeks best, surprisingly, but only if you find bait fish schooling.  Black Baby Torpedo and Super Flukes.  Did absolutely nothing with anything else.  Wound up with 2-1/2# average.  Best I've done in two years on that side.  Water was only 92. lo lo lo
