My BassCat Puma is a great riding boat in rough water. It was designed for rough water and has the main tank under the seats. It also has two 10 gallon saddle tanks in the right and left rear. The advantage of the under seat tank is it shifts weight forward. The boat rides flatter and this reduces the effects of big waves. With main and saddle tanks, the boat holds 53 gallons of gas. Another advantage is on lakes with no or smaller waves. If you don't fill the main tank and use the saddle tanks, The boat rides like a rear tanked boat with nose high. This reduces the pull of water on the hull and increases top end speed. So, tanks forward gives better ride and tanks rear gives better speed. Take care on the water.

Wiz. Tks for sharing this. My Stratos has (1) 36 gal gas tank which is under the seats. Sometimes I which I had saddle tanks.
My Ranger has the tank under the seat. However when I was researching boats, when I was thinking of buying new, I found that Triton uses a tank that is formed to fit in the Center of the boat and lays in the vee from the seat up to the bow. This gives it a balanced center of gravity.
Most Bay and shallow draft saltwater boats have a forward tank.
I thought that Triton's idea was pretty good.
