Help!New to UB,Needing some input on 2012z9Proxs250.^7 mph GPS has a 10"atlas jackplate,tempest plus 25,running 5800 at 67 mph cannot get bow to raise until ive run 100 yards,just plows water,any ideas on the perfect setup or another prop,when I bought the boat it had a 24 Protech prop,runs exactly the same with the tempest,running engine 3 and 3/4 below pad.Thanks for any input!

Some questions might seem obvious but we need to confirm?
You do put the jackplate all the way down (assuming it's a hydraulic) and the trim all the way down before you take off?
Do you have plugs in the vent holes on the prop?
5800 is a very safe WOT place to run, you won't get the most speed possible but the motor will thank you for it as the years roll on.
Most come set up with a 26 tempest+ and a lot of them go to a 25 furry.
Your close on engine height I'd say you can come up a 1/4 inch or even more but not getting any bow lift has me stumped unless your trimming to much to soon.
5800 rpm's on a pro xs is in the recommended max base line but IMHO you need to be hitting 6 or better with the 25 that shouldn't be an issue. So something else is holding you back, be it the engine height is lower then you think, an issue with the motor or often it's the hotfoot not letting you get full use out of the throttle
I am thinking the same thing as Ron. I too have had the problem and discovered the motor was far to deep. I also noticed that turns at speed were not all that good either. My boat tended to plow a bit when going to plane. Had to trim a a whole bunch to get to plane and even then the bow stayed a little lower than I wanted.
I would say you are too deep. Not enough lift. Could be the props as well. Several variables actually.
Being at 5800, you should be running hard and with plenty of lift.
I do have Jack plate down to 3 3/4 below pad,trim is down al the way,I'll try raising a bit and see where I'm at,I have a Tempest plus 27 also.let me get new #s and I'll get back with you on the issue,Thanks Agian!
You should be trimmed down on take off. Then trim up until max...or close. Depends on your boat and motor. You should be close to full trim though. Maybe a bump or two down.
