Title: Islamorada Channel 5 Florida Keys. 12/6/15
Post by: SFL BassHunter on December 06, 2015, 03:15:28 PM
My Parents picked me up around 9 and we drive down to the same spot as yesterday. The bite wasn't as constant but it was still very good.

Started off with 3 keeper mangrove snappers

I didn't take many pics today. I thought I took a picture of the hog fish I caught but it turns out it was video and it only got the tail lol. The hogfish was an inch to small to keep.

I caught a nice keeper yellow tail snapper as well.

And several babies.

My mom came in second with 3 keeper mangrove snappers and my dad dead last with 1 though he swears he caught two. Lol we will see when we get to my house exactly how many we have in total.

Wind was out of control and the water was very choppy. Current going one way waves going the opposite due to the high winds.

In the end it was a good fishing trip with a nice amount of fish caught.

Nice. Different than the norm of bass fishing. Glad you caught something.

2 back to back successful trips.  ~c~

I remember once I fished a bridge down by Big Pine Key. A school of Jack decided to come by and stick around for a while. Talking about fun!! We had a fishing bonanza!!

Yeah when those schools pass by it is crazy. The nice thing about both days was non stop bites. Lots of small fish obviously but catching more than a few keepers these days down in the keys isn't easy. Needless to say having caught 5 keepers yesterday and a total of 8 or 9 keepers today is far more than I've caught in the keys in years.

Yeah very different. I am itching for some bass fishing...

Yet I think next weekend will be another saltwater expedition. lol. My dad has been hounding me to go to Tampa and fish the Skyway Pier which is open 24 hours. He brings it up every time I see him so I finally committed to it since I have next Friday off.
Now the job begins, find a hotel...
