Title: 2002 Gauges
Post by: jprism on August 26, 2014, 08:02:06 PM
2002 TR-21
How difficult is it to find replacement gauges for the older TR-21's. Buying a boat where some of the gauges do not work speedo & trim

Thanks, Jim

I did some looking but not much luck. You may call a dealer and see if they can help you.

Are you sure the gauges are the problem? If the hole in the motor is stopped up the speedometer won't work and is the trim sensor goes out neither will the trim gauge. When my trim sensor went out, the gauge would read up I believe.

When I did my I just replaced them all with aftermarket ones. Just measure the holes it's either 2 in or 2 1/4 I believe.  I went to iboats.com and found some cool ones pretty reasonable.

I have a 2005 TR-185. I replaced all the gauges with MercMonitor smart gauges. Not the cheapest replacement in the world, but very much worth the cost.
I still have my old speedo gauge, but I don't think it ever worked.
You could also try C&O Marine (http://www.teamcandomarine.com/eshopdetail_cat_7129-84072_pr_0.Gauges.htm), they might have what you are looking for.
