Title: lae eufaula
Post by: CAPJIMMY on November 10, 2013, 05:40:51 PM
i am planning a trip to lake Eufaula in Oklahoma in may and I have never been there. I was wondering if anyone could give me any advice on what to throw and where to go.

I'm sorry I didn't see this until now. I hope you see this before you go.

I grew up on Eufaula. Depending on when you are going in May, you should have great fishing. The spawn normally takes place starting in late March and ending in late May. The best spawning action is normally late April/early May. This cold winter may just push the spawn back though.

Regadless of when you get there, you are going to have both spawn and post spawn fish to deal with. Luckily, that means that most of the fish are going to be relatively shallow. I've always felt like the dock patterns are the best in mid to late may throughout the rest of the summer. A lot of fry guarding males and recovering females will move to the first docks away from the spawning areas.

Sounds good I will be fishing the TBF central divisionals in the middle of June on Eufaula representing Louisiana.
