Title: Jackplate on 18' boats
Post by: Brudd on February 17, 2013, 09:59:58 AM
I'm considering a Nitro or Triton 18' boat with a 150 which will already be a tight squeeze in my garage. So, a jackplate would make this even more of an issue. What gains would a jack plate give with type of boat/motor?  I need to figure out if I need to figure out how to make it work.

More boat out of the water= more speed and better milage not to mention better handling. A jack plate is a must IMO

I don't know about the Nitros but most any Triton will have a swing away tounge on the trailer, that may help you with the Room in the Garage.

Even with the swing away I would have to angle the boat in the garage to make it fit.
