Chelsea, Ala – For the third consecutive year professional angler Randy Howell will be giving away his fully loaded 21HP Triton powered by a Mercury 250 Pro XS engine, valued at over $71,000. Working in conjunction with King’s Home, a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, Howell is asking for your donation to the King’s Home and for every $100 donation made, Randy will give you one entry into the boat giveaway. The drawing for the boat will be held on November 24, 2013 at the 4th Annual Kampfire for the King event and fishing rodeo held on the King’s Home main campus in Chelsea, AL.
King’s Home serves abused youth, women, and children seeking refuge, hope and help from abuse, neglect, abandonment, homelessness and other extreme and difficult conditions and circumstances. Along with the opportunity for spiritual development, King’s Home teaches necessary skills and provides tangible services to help their residents heal from devastating pasts, break the cycle of abuse, build healthy relationships, and become independent, productive members of the community.
In 2012, King’s Home offered residence to 331 women and children for a total of 37,215 bed days. King’s Home includes 19 residential group homes on four campuses across three counties in Alabama. King’s Home is largely funded by private gifts and they need your help to assist abusedwomen and children.
The Randy Howell boat giveaway has raised in excess of $90,000 annually over the past two years by reaching out to the bass fishing community. In 2013, King’s Home and the Howell family are once again asking for the help of the bass fishing community to reach their goal of $100,000 in donations.
You don’t have to be present to win and you can watch thedrawing live from the event on King’s Home’s website (KingsHome.org) Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at approximately 6:00p.m. CST. One lucky winner will win the boat, like last year’s winner Nathan Stephens.
“When we called Nathan last year live from the stage, he thought it was a prank. He made two donations to King’s Home, and received two opportunities to win the boat from Randy, online after reading the article on Bassmaster.com,” explained Howell.
In conjunction with the “Kampfire for the King” celebration, Howell will be hosting the fourth annual fishing rodeo sponsored by Mark’s Outdoors and it’s free to all kids under the age of 19. Howell said, “Most of these kids have experienced horrible abuse or abandonment in their young lives. This fishing day is all about fun. We get to see smiles on their faces that only a fish can bring, and that’s why we do it!”
Howell has reached out to Alabama High School fishing teams be a part of the event over the past two years. “Last year we had 75 high school fishing team members around the lake helping the kids catch fish. That one-on-one attention means a lot to thesekids, and it also helps the team members realize how blessed they are in their own lives,” explained Howell.
