Hello, My name is Eric Couch. I am 27 years old and call Northeast Alabama home. I feel very honored to have the opportunity to be a part of the Ultimate Bass team. I have called this area home since I was born. Guntersville Lake has always been close to home and I consider it my “home” lake. As far as fishing goes, I have been fishing since I was very small. When I was younger, trips to the Tenn. River came every weekend.
My fishing time has been cut down recently, but my excuse is a very good one. I have a 2 1/2 year-old named Erica and another little girl named Emily, who will be 1 year very soon. I have been married to my wife Elizabeth for almost 5 years. I love taking my oldest girl fishing at local ponds. She gets very excited when she catches one. She has taken to fishing quicker than I thought she would.
My favorite type of lure to use for Largemouth are soft plastics. Everything from Trick worms to stick-baits, to grubs and Lizards. Spinnerbaits are a close second. As of now I’m not officially sponsored by any tackle companies, but a couple of local trucking companies sponsor me. I have been a Semi-Truck mechanic for the past 9 years. My family owns a trucking company, I am the Shop Foreman in the repair shop.
Some close friends, family members, and I have started a local bass club. Hopefully, next year our membership will grow. I usually try to fish at least 2 of the local wildcat tournaments a week. Starting next tournament season, I will be fishing the larger tournaments more. I look forward to working with the rest of the crew here at Ultimate Bass.
