FLW Bass Fishing League

Boater Bill Walker, Mulkeytown, Ill., caught a 10-bass limit weighing 23 pounds, 5 ounces Sept. 25-26 to win $4,257 in the BFL Illini Division tournament on the Ohio River. Under mostly cloudy skies and windy conditions Walker was fishing with spinnerbaits to catch his limits.

Jeff Reiher of Oak Forest, Ill., caught a 10-bass limit weighing 20 pounds, 3 ounces Sept. 25-26 to win $2,129 in the Co-angler Division. He was fishing Bay Creek using topwater baits the first day and the Tennessee River with a finesse worm on day two.

All five events in the Illini Division are complete and the top 40 boaters and 40 co-anglers based on point standings in the division have now qualified for the Regional Championship scheduled for Oct. 7-9 on Lake Barkley in Kuttawa, Ky. Boaters will compete for a top award of a Ranger 198VX with a 200-horsepower Evinrude or Yamaha outboard and a Chevy pick-up, while co-anglers will fish for a new Ranger 198VX.
