Fished Caddo two nights ago. Started right at dark and had an absolute ball on spinnerbaits and large worms until about 1 am then it shut off like a switch. Didn't do much running around because of all the rain and t-storm cells but we didn't get to wet and the fishing was awsome........

The bite was on yesterday as well Mike .I caught twelve fish between 3pm and 5:30 pm..The lightning ran me off early so I think I could have managed several more fish before dark .I had one over (4.43lbs),2 in slot and the rest under .

Weedless baits in the pads are catching a few really good fish early and late. Other than that it seems to be a matter of hitting as many trees as you can in all kinds of water. I have heard 2-3 ft and I have also heard 6 ft. So pick your favorite spot and cover water. Large tubes and large worms are doing the trick for the most part. The night bite is coming on real strong also. I found a really good spinner bait bite the other day and had a ball, mostly slot fish but I had 3 overs to 5#.

Another 20 plus fish day on Caddo Saturday... The fish were a little slow for us during the morning but turned on pretty good after lunch. Between 2pm and 3 pm my partner  gave me a carolina rig lesson and boated a 4 pounder,a 6+ pounder and a couple of slot fish. The fish were caught about 8 ft deep in  brush .

Chris, You really seem to be doing well on Caddo during the day light hours. Do you mind giving up a structure type that is working for you. Meaning are you working docks, slough channels, trees? Just curious. Thanks

Mike , Sloughs and a select few points with brush . The bigger fish definitely were in the thicker stuff. As soon as we would drag the carolina rig over it (brush)we would get bit .

Chris,

Sounds like you have a few (select) personal brush piles  Please!? I need to get busy and plant some extra habitat for myself. Thanks for the info, just one more question though do you fish in the Jeems or the main lake mostly.

Fished Caddo Fri night from 7:30 - 6:00 and caught 2 fish. The company was great, the bugs weren't bad, the temperature was comfortable, but the fishing sucked. Although we haven't sent much time on the water after dark, we fished hard and couldn't get anything to work. Oh well, I'll just have to send more nights on the water. Wink Wink

I went fishing on Caddo last Saturday.  Caught some quality fish in Tar Island Slough.  4.75 # came off a Zoom trick worm in bright red.  Two more fish bit a Terminator spinnerbait in Chatruse and White with silver and gold willow leaf blades, both over 3#'s.  I was fishing the trees and the lilly pads on the South side of the Slough, right near the boat road.  I had another fish bite a Carolina Rig thrown right down the boat road where the channel is.  Frogs in white and also white and chartruce have been getting some bites from the pads as well.  The key is to find the pads and trees that are near some grass!

Fished Caddo last night. Fishing was a little tough we only caught a dozen or so all on spinnerbaits and worms pitched to pads with grass. Nothing real big but slot fish sure are fun when you don't have to weigh them in.......

Darn, I hate I missed the action.  Like you said....at least you were fishing.  I was washing the tahoe, dri-washing the nitro, changiing line on reels, and hanging out in the pool.

There is always next weekend...or for you self-employed people, there is always tomorrow.

Well I know that when you are self employed your boss is the worse than working for a company or organization, but you have to admit living so close to caddo is a good thing. So how is lake Papa coming along.......

Well we were having so much trouble getting a Bream population going that we had to catch a bunch of the Bass out. But in the last Month we have put over 100 adult Bream in so we should be OK now. Now I am going to wait till spring to put anymore Bass in, unless someone catches a real "HAWG" and wants to put it in. HAHA
