New PB and during a tourney!

Okay, before you read to far let me say we don't often get the big girls ya'll do down south.

Today was the first tourney of the year for me. Fishing solo with a total of 38 anglers. It was cold, 24 deg this morning winds NE at 10-15 and the winchill never got above freezing. Spent 1/2 the day getting ice out of my guides and Curado (yes I used 1 rod for all but 3 casts today). 2 hours into the tourney I had 2 fish in the box, then lost a 4 lb'er next to the boat, yes I lost it and 1/2 the lake heard me yelling. After calming down I got back into my groove and boated another keeper. Feeling great I pressed on. Well the Good Lord smiled at me and I got my KICKER! 1st time I went to net her she peeled off drag (40lb Power Pro on my Curado) 2nd time I got her in, within 10 secs the jig came out of her mouth! Anyway I'll cut to the chase now.

38 Anglers
13 fish weighed in
3 were mine (culled twice) 10 lbs 5.5 ounces
And my new PB 5 lbs 7.5 ounces

Did I mention I also won 1st place and 2nd BB

NEVER GIVE UP!!!!!!

Thos 2 bass in your right hand are nice looking fish that I would be happy to catch in any tourney, but that kicker bass is a HAWG

Way to GO!! especially in this weather Being a fellow Illini, can you share what you caught that pig on? I am going to try my luck this coming weekend, and so far the 2 times I have been out have been unproductive for me. Not sure I know how to fish early spring this year. :-)

Yeah, I have no problem sharing after the tourney, heck I showed it to some guys there

Tour Edge Jig X 3/8 Pumpkin with a Outdoor Advantage 3" chunk craw trailer. Through the same thing for almost 8 hours

Hey DB, my official weights are in from my Sunday tourney and it turns out that my big bass for the day was 5lb 6oz, you beat me by 1.5 oz on the same day

Your right our BAss don't get as Big as the ones down south but are just as fun to catch

Remember where they live so eye can catch them when eye come down to fish with you
