Have a question about Progressive boat insurance.  Was checking it out and found a lot of people feel they do not take good care of clients on claim and more that say they are good with claims.  My agent switched me over to Progressive Boat Insurance saying it was a better deal, more coverage, and less money then what I was carrying, but now wonder if it was a good idea if they don't take care of people on claim.

Was wondering how many have had experience with Progressive good or bad?

I have progressive and so far have not had to file any claims so I can't say how thier service is in that area. I will say the policy I have is great. They don't depreciate the value of your boat so in other words if you insure your boat for $20,000 today and then 5 years down the road total it out they are going to pay you $20,000. Most insurance companies will pay the depreciation value of the boat. Another thing is my rate have been cut in half due to the fact I have never made a claim. So no complaints so far. ;D

1st claim for a TM went off without any issue, called them up, they told me to go buy a new one and send them the receipt, got a check in the mail in a couple days.  Next claim was for a lower unit, took a week to get someone out to look at it, didn't cover any of the damage to the bottom of the boat, tried to buy a rebuilt lower unit from ebay while my boat was still under warranty, had Bass Pro set them straight and got me back up and running after about a month down.  Next claim was for a TM, same as the 1st just go buy a new one and we will send you a check.  This last one was a pain, filed claim in March of 2009, got a call saying they were going to cover it and then saw on line the claim was closed and paid,,, issue was the claim was for 9,800 give or take and they paid 680.00 for a rebuild kit for the lower unit.  Took until Aug of 2009 and a letter to them to get a phone call from some big wig saying they didn't have to cover it, but they would.  ::)

IMHO it's all dependent on who your claims rep is, get a good claims rep you will have great service, get one that you can't get on the phone or takes their time to come look at the claim and won't follow up with you than you are going to have issues.

I think the last part will hold true for any Insurance Co. you go with, having one that knows about boats and anglers helps a lot.  :-*

BIG PAPA

2 totals and a new lower unit so far with no problems ~c~

PROGRESSIVE INSURANCE is owned by Peter Lewis: Who is he?  Read this...
VERY IMPORTANT INFO TO PASS TO EVERYONE CONCERNED ABOUT THEIR COUNTRY.

You've seen and smiled at the Progressive Insurance TV commercials.

Well, you're about to learn the rest of the story:

PROGRESSIVE AUTO INSURANCE

You know their TV commercials, the ones featuring the ditsy actress all dressed in white.  What you might not know is that the Chairman of Progressive is Peter Lewis, one of the major funders of leftist causes in America.

Between 2001 and 2003, Lewis funneled $15 million to the ACLU, the group most responsible for destroying what's left of Americas Judeo-Christian heritage.

Lewis also gave $12.5 million to MoveOn.org and American Coming Together, two key propaganda arms of the socialist left.

His funding for these groups was conditional on matching contributions from George Soros, the America-hating socialist who is the chief financier of the Obama political machine.

Lewis made a fortune as a result of capitalism, but now finances a progressive movement that threatens to destroy the American free enterprise system that is targeting television shows on Fox News.

Peter Lewis is making a fortune off of conservative Americans (who buy his auto and boat insurance) that he applies to dismantle the very system that made him wealthy.  He's banking on no one finding out who he is, so, STOP buying Progressive Insurance and pass this information on to all your friends.

I've had several claims with Progressive and never a hiccup in service last one, I was back on the water that weekend.
