Here is a cheep lure retriever that really works.I had lost my Hound Dog lure retriever over the side of the boat so I looked for one to replace it in my local bait shops but couldn't find one so I would have to order one.In the mean time I remembered reading somewhere about using a spark plug with a snap swivel attached as a lure retriever.Well the old spark plug has worked so well that I never ordered a new hound dog.Simply put the snap swivel on the spark plug electrobe and bend the electrobe down closing the gab.Just attach the snap to your line and it runs down your line knocking you lure free. Here is a picture of the spark plug lure retriever I made, it has not failed me yet...

I have used that for a good while. It actualy seems to work better than the ones you buy.
I don't mind not knowing all the answers, but I keep forgeting the danged questions.

Well after months of use the sparkplug/plugknocker has not failed me yet.I have had to replace the snap with a heavier one because the snap broke from opening and closing so many times.

I know this is going to sound stupid, but what the HECK is a lure retriever?   I have never heard of one or seen one..... and how is it that a spark plug works better than something that was specifically designed for the job??

BassBUFF

A lure retreiver is something that helps get a lure unstuck. In this case consider the spark plug a "plug knocker". Anything banging around the lure can help it dislodge from whatever it hung on.
