Hey How many of you fish wacky rigged worms and have the wacky rig tool that you slide the stick bait into and the rubber o-rings on?  Did you know that this tool is also great for putting skirts on your jigs, vibrashocks, spinning baits or whatever else you skirt.  You just have to make the following  alteration to the tool and you can double it's use.

Take off all the O-rings if you are storing them on, but leave the screw in place.  Clamp the tool securely onto a vise.  I wouldn't try it free hand, it just not that stable or safe,  With a dremel cutting disk cut a slot approximately 2 inches from the open end toward the screw end.  After you have made the slot long enough, widen it out a bit so that your hooks fit without issue.   Using sand paper or a reaming tool, smooth the cut so that it's not sharp prior to use.

To use,
Slide your skirt up the narrow end, I find it easier to unscrew the end, put the skirt on the screw and re-attach it to the tool.
You can then slide the skirt and band up onto the tool and over the slot about half way.
Then  hook your jig hook up and around the skirt band and slide it into the slot.
Slide your skirt up onto the jig/lure/spinner etc....
See the red mark on the picture is where you need to slide it to prior to inserting your hook.

I wished I had pictures to show you  but unfortunately my wife took 1 camera to florida and my daughter the other.    I took a pic off the web so that I could show you basically what I had done, and in the process I deleted my online picture gallery.  UG!  Hopefully laurie can rescue it or make me a  new one.    it remains to be seen, after I finish this posting if I still have my signature and my forum picture of my big bass.

In the end, it's not going to matter how many breaths you took, but how many moments took your breath away.

Any questions, please don't hesitate to ask.  (BK I see that small print! )

Using this tool I changed out a few Vibrashock skirts and actually bulked up on one by adding 2 additional skirts to it.

And it's smaller than a pen, so easy to take on the water.

Have used this on about 5 trips so far and it hasn't failed me yet.  As soon as I can get a camera (Should be able to get one this week I will post a demonstration.

Hope this helps.  The tool can also be used with a band along and skirt material inside the tube to make your own skirt color combinations.
