These are always pretty cool events. I wonder if these folks ever need donations of extra baits and tackle?

For a rodeo like that one that provides the tools, I'm sure they'd love gear donations.

Want to help some kids fish the local, smaller rodeos, best bet is to show up early, look for a kid who doesn't seem to have much to work with and donate it directly to them. Maybe even take them under your wing and fish with them. Most of these, at least round these parts, are small community events run similar to small, local club tournaments. They take the entry fee and put together some prizes for the winners, usually some participation goodies for the ones who don't have much luck.

Want to REALLY make some kid's day? If it's not a bank fishing only local event, see if you can sign yourself up as something like a volunteer boater to take a couple of the lesser equipped kids out on your boat. That's one thing keeping some kids from participating around here. They ain't dumb, they know the ones fishing with their dad/uncle/grandfather from a boat have the advantage. Would you fish the Bassmaster Classic from the bank? Would you even make it to the BC without a boat? I've seen kids show up to these, see the boats, and beg their parents to just take them home. It's demoralizing as hell to them.
