So I needed a tool holder for the new rig. I looked around and for a plastic one with a few magnets your spending to much money lol and we all know plastic gets brittle over time with high sun exposure.

I did find a few aluminum ones that were waaaaay to much. So I did what most guys do and built two lol and I am going to make a bait holder out of the scrap.

I went to the local hardware store and spent $4 on a 36" piece of angle aluminum.

I went to Harbor Frieght and got some epoxy and small magnets. About $7 total.

I also used a few drill bits, a jig saw with metal cutting blade, a few small files, a tape measurer, marker, and block of sand paper. Which I had in the garage.

I used my pilers and clippers to measure what I needed to remove and used a marker to mark it. A little trial and error and I got them perfect. I also drilled a few holes for a few baits to dry. I rounded the edges so nobody hits a arm or leg and gets a nasty cut.

Oh I made mine 8" long

I made one and plastic dipped it before I decided to add the magnets.

The magnets are strong and 10 came on the pack. I recommend setting the magents down on a table and lay them side by side before putting epoxy down. Once you get them laying beside each other they stick together sideways and are easy to move.

Here's a video to show how good they hold.

I made the bait bar yesterday evening and plastic dipped spray painted them.

I will post some pictures of the finished and installed project once I get them in.

Got the bait bar in. Still got to put in the tool holder on.

Did you weld that in? Looks very nice.

No just used two self tapping screws straight into the brace on the lid.

I decided I didn't like the plastic dip coating so I just spray painted it and put a clear coat on. Got it in and it looks and works great.

Oh I forgot I used stainless nuts and bolts to hold it in place. That platic board is just about a 1/2" thick in that spot. I originally made a back plate but it wasn't needed.

Now what to do with the second one lol

I used the tool holder today and she works perfectly. I ran across a rainy choppy lake and left them in to and from the 3 ramps I went to today. Not an issue :-)
