I thought it might be interesting to get to know some of the new and old members here on the site so I started this topic so we could share a little about ourselves with everyone.

I will go first:

My name is Laurie and most of the folks here on the site also know me as Mother Nature. The site is my hobbie gone wild and it is where I spend most of my day trying to make it better for everyone. I am married to Mike, who is the best partner I could have ever hoped or wished for and we have three little monsters...well they aren't so little anymore but they are ous. They are 16, 18, 19 and all girls, so when Mike seems a little grumpy you will all know why :) I love to fish and spend time with Mike. We fish a local bass club called the Twin Cities Team Club and also every open day that we actually have a boat and time. Oh and our boat spends a lot of time in the shop...seems Mike has Murphy with him every where he goes lo

I have started a new business building websites. So far so good as my latest client seems to be hapy with me. I hope to have 10 or so accounts total so I can maintain the customer service that I would want to recieve as a client.

Now you know a little bit about me, tell us a little about yourself!

Ranger375

#3
Well let me just jump right in here.  I am Ranger375....my real name...let's see...I had it with me a minute ago.  Oh yeah...its Ken.

Now for a Little secret...I have PhDs in behavioral and clinical psychology...and the first one that calls me doctor is in for big trouble...I WILL put dish soap in your livewells!!!  >:D  I only tell you that as an excuse for whatever I may do that is unexplained behaviour.

I do stuff for a living... Note the signature and let your imagination run wild.   ~shade

I don't wear high heels (camouflage or otherwise...thank you very much Fishermom!) contrary to the posts that you may read on here.   ~shhh

I have, however, found a new fondness for Victoria's Secret catalogs...and the jury is still out as to how I came to receive it in the first place.   :shocking:

I get blamed for most everything on the boards that goes wrong...real and imagined...which is usually true.  I am working on a new post that will probably get my fish taken away AGAIN...and I have been in time-out which was rightly imposed by Mother Nature...boy...did I ever deserve that one!  Something about double cupping I think...how was I to know?   ~an~

I live in Kentucky...very close to a lot of good distilleries...Jim Beam and Makers Mark to name a couple...you know come to think about it..heck all of Eastern Kentucky is a distillery!  ;PEP)

I love to fish...and I happen to like and own Ranger boats..now THAT is an entirely different story in and of itself.  But...at least my boats are not named after something that blows up or a bug or stuff like that!

There was this one time at band camp...oops...wrong board!

I own a dog...not my boat either...

I just so happen to have a significant other...a French Canadian beauty named Nanette who speaks French a lot...usually when she is mad at me...and that is also a lot...and I still can't understand most of what is being said at me...I mean TO me...by the way what does "putain" mean?  Still looking that one up!  I am sure she meant it with the greatest affection.  Actually she is a total sweetheart!

I have some other hobbies...flying...playing in a band...trying to understand French words coming at me at high velocity...and other stuff.

I am not a member of MENSA...

I can count to ten though on a good day!  ~c~

Well that is about it...now back to authoring the "mother of all posts!"  ~sweat
"It Ain't all the things that we don't know that causes all the trouble...it's all the things that we DO know that ain't so!"

MotherNature

I guess I will have to be on the look out for that post now! I can't wait to see just what it might be  :shocking:

MO BASS I have been trying to get Mike to take me to Table Rock for some time now. I guess I am going to have to start using you as an excuse :) I love to meet the folks that visit the site in person so now I can tell him the next time we visit his parents in Willard that we have to stop by Table Rock to meet MO, and FISH! Maybe he will go for it lo

OHbassaholic looks like you have your hands full! I hope you can find some relaxation around here. I really love that our site is growing so much and it is an honer to have folks like you from other sites stop by and visit.

I am married with one daughter from my first marriage. She is now 13 years old & starting to think about nothing but boys! I can feel the grey hair growing already!

For my full time job I work the parts counter at a Peterbilt dealership in Bossier City, La. Part time I work relief shifts as an EMT-Basic with our parish ambulance service. I am also a volunteer F/F.

I love fishing...period. It doesn't matter for what. Whatever is biting best at the time is what I'll be fishing for. I also love deer hunting and being in the woods enjoying the peace & quiet! Fishing & hunting...What better way to relax!

Ranger,
I just KNEW we could count on you for a great post in this subject...well done buddy!

calincalif50

Real name:  Calvin,  folks call me Cal, I live in California, a long way from most of the folks I've seen here, hence the Calinical50 name.

I'm married, 20 years next October to a wonderful Irish lass, I'm a retired Air Force SNCO who met my current wife while stationed in RAF Greenham common in England.  I've got two adult children; a boy and a girl from my first marriage and two grandkids from my daughter.  The grandkids are wonderful but its hard when you can't see them as often as you wold like as they live in Florida.  I have two step boys from my current marriage both adults, one now living in England, the other in my town, both great lads

I think about Bass often, usually when I wake till I sleep...if I'm not trying to catch them I'm thinking of ways to get them out of your boat and into mine... lo

I have a small boat of 14 feet, that was rescued from the junk yard, repaired and hand decked with seats.  It catches fish, it just doesn't get to the end of the lake the same day.  I have no outboard, but am still looking, trolling motors are great for the local ponds I use it in, but would like to take it to the bigger lakes as well.

Well that's me in a nut shell...and some say I am a nut..fits in better with the other nuts under the tree

alias left_turn56

OK...here goes.
My "real" name is Joel. I was born and raised in  Central California. I grew up waterskiing and fishing in many of the areas lakes (Comanche, New Hogan, Delta, East Park, Coyote, Anderson, Lexington, Nacimento, San Antonio, Santa Margarita, etc...). I moved to Phoenix, AZ to go to school in 1995. 2 weeks after having a  very fatherly type talk with myself ( you know...no partying, no racing, no girls...just school!!!) on the way there, I met my wonderful wife. She took a HUGE gamble and married me here in Denver in 1998. Since then she has subjected herself to more rec. league hockey games than we can remember, too many dirt track races to count, and way more than enough trips to the ER. While she has not embraced the SeaSprite and bass fishing just yet, she doesn't usually stand in my way either.
Other interesting facts...
I am fighting a life-long addiction to Pepsi...
I drive a 2003 Ford Ranger (and it tows the SeaSprite like it isn't even there...wait, where did it go???)
I have a Queensland Healer dog that LOVES to ride in the boat.
I have uncontrollable urges to say "Git 'er DONE"
I am a BMW, Honda, and Harley Davidson certified mechanic.
Now I work as an account rep for a mortgage document software firm.
I have never lost my little fishies (bit not for lack of trying, I just haven't been caught yet).
Oh yeah...I author the SeaSprite Chronicles.

Jared LeBlue

Ok, here it goes. My name is Jared, I have been married for 11 years to a wonderful woman yall Know as Rattles Trap. I am a police officer  PoPo and have been for the past ten years. I have two children, one boy and one girl, that are awesome but drive me crazy on a regular basis. I've been bass fishing for a little better than 20 years now and love it just as much as I did when I started. I plan on passing this addiction to my two little ones. Hopefully they will be better at it than I am. ;D
Ardent Prostaff

Texasd

My real name is Damon and I am originally from Magnolia AR.  I married my wife of 12 years, also from Magnolia, and she joined the Air Force.  I have been to Florida, Alaska, Texas, Louisiana, and California.  We have had five different address since 1999.  We have three children and only the youngest will spend a day on the water with me.  She can hold her own at 10 years old.  The others are into music videos and video games.

I am a Contract Specialist here at Vandenberg AFB, which means I spend tax payer's money and no!, I don't pay $700 for a hammer.  It is a pretty good job but the only drawback is I don't get to fish the whole month of September.  I also have a Master's Degree from Troy State University, AL.

Like others I love fishing and I will fish for whatever is biting at that time but 95 percent of the time I will start by bass fishing.  I have even caught bullfrog on plastic worms when I see them in grass mats.  I have hooked snakes with topwaters plugs just for the hell of it.

This is me in a nutshell:

1. I love to fish.  It does get too hot or too cold and the days will get too short but never to long.  However, Lighting will run me off of the water.  I also like running yo-yo's and juglines but had a hard time finding people to go with me.
2.  I love to hunt, deer, dove, duck, squirrel, rabbit and I love to eat it all.  I haven't coon hunting yet but I would love to try it.
3.  I love to frog gig and have even frog gigged out the creek that runs through Barksdale AFB.
4.  I love NASCAR (Hendrick Motorsports and you know who that is).  I will attend five races this year and my first at Daytona for the Pepsi 400.
5. I listen to all types of music including country, classic rock, r&b, and some rap.
6. One of the main things that will keep me off of the lake is College Football.  That is why I portable TV.  However, I do stay home for TEXAS v. OU game but I shouldn't at least for the last 4 years. I HATE PAC 10 FOOTBALL.  It ain't football unless it is BIG 12 or SEC.

Yo Doc....now I'm afraid to meet you.  I don't want to be committed...I do not visit the 10th floor of our hospital (psych ward) for fear of not being allowed to leave.  Was told my a psych student many years ago that I would make one heck of a doctoral thesus.

Okay...you guess my name.  I have lived in Louisiana all my life....10 years in the northwest section and Baton Rouge before that.  I am a state auditor...with 29.5 years under my belt.  Just over 4 months until retirement eligibility.  I currently work for LSU Medical Center as their Director of Internal Audit.  Somehow I became a CPA a few years ago and have a degree in accounting.  Numbers are fun.  One of my hobbies is practicing for retirement....and I am really good at it.

I have been married 24 years (cumulatively) and I'm pretty sure...definitely sure...that I won't be adding to those years.  I have 2 wonderful children from my first marriage.....a daughter that is almost 26 and a son that is 29.

I started fishing very early in life with my dad.  I have loved it ever since.  I'm currently a member of the Twin Cities Team Club.  I am also a member of the Association of Bass Professionals.  Other interests include swimming or hanging out in the pool when the weather permits, watching sports on TV, and going to casinos.

I enjoy cooking except when doing it for just me.  I'm addicted to Diet Coke.  I drive a 2002 Chevy Tahoe....and YES, I own a NITRO.  Unlike others, I only need one Nitro to get me on the water every time.

I have been involved with the Ultimate Bass web site for a few years and absolutely love it.  Everything that goes wrong here is Ranger's fault...sometimes the voices in my head cause me to do things...but Ranger is ultimately responsible.  Its a challenge to keep my voices from leading me down the wrong path....however, the wrong path is often the most fun.
Life is a B........each!

My turn. Well along time ago a man and,,oh wait wrong story. My "real" name is David, I am from Louisiana. I started fishing when I was fairly young and learned it basically on my own, until a few years ago when I got some professonial fishing instruction. I grew up on a lake in North La. and have some really good memories of fishing.
I joined the Navy and spent my time as a Corpsman onboard a Destroyer> I got out and for some idiotic reason became a nurse. I work in a Long term Acute Care facility as a floor nurse and a critical care nurse.
I have been married twice with a wonderful child from each. I have found that the better wife is by all means the second. I can count the number of times I was "allowed" to fish in seven years on one hand. Number two-well,,We both have been fishing together that many times in the last 3 months.
My wife, also known on the board as Nitro Girl, is also a Long Term Acute Care nurse. We work at the same facility just on different shifts.
I am not a clinical psyco-whatever Ranger said he was, but I have been under the care of a few. Maybe its time for a tune-up, what do ya say Ranger???
As far a the "other stuff" Music=Insane Clown Posse, Rammstein, Lords of Acid,Art of Noise. I can't get enough of the Cartoon Channel, but only after 10 pm weeknights.
You knonw, all in all, I have a great life (other than that nursing thing). I have a great wife, great kids, great boat, what more do I really need? Maybe saiyan blood? (if you got that, we both have a problem).
Okay enough rambling here. I have enjoyed meeting (electronically and in person) all of the people on the board and look forward meeting more people in the future...............Dave the Dope Man

Myself ????? Where to start, Born into the world a military brat and moved around a little bit until my old man settled down in Springfield Mo. (No kidding it was because Bass Pro Shops was there) Anyway I eventually joined the Air Force and was immediately shipped to Iceland, what and impression  lo One year later I was stationed in Beale California where I meet my life long best Friend and somehow convinced her to marry me, 14 years and a couple days, another trip overseas to Korea, and a follow on assignment to Louisiana, here I am typing to you telling you all about me or myself or I (Ranger and Mike stop it  lo ) Oh OK I'm back.

My fishing experience ranges from club fishing to full blow high dollar tournaments from Missouri to the west coast and the last 6 years here in the south. I can drop shot and spoon in 60 ft of water and flip jigs and spinnerbaits in 6 inches of water. My favorite is the Jig. You will always find a jig tied on at least one rod no matter where I am fishing, no matter what the conditions, and no matter the season.

I have been in the military for 16 years and seen many corners of our globe and even fished in a couple of them. I have two motto's, "peace the old fashioned way" and "Fish". I have three daughters (for those of you that have young ladies in the house you can feel my pain, wheres the toilet paper?  lo ), no kidding I love them to death and wouldn't trade them for the world (gotta say something nice, they will pick my nursing home someday).

I visit this forum daily looking for questions that need an answer, I usually will answer to the best of my ability guided by my experiences. So ask away I love questions.

Dave,
I'm working in a hospital I retired from.  Worked here for 10 years before I retired from the Air Force.  I'm currently running the Personnel Reliability Program (PRP).  For those of you who aren't familiar with Personnel Reliability..not yours but the military's..this program is designed to review and track ALL medical appointments for people designated as PRP.  Busy job....except today becasue of the holiday break.  For those of you who are somewhat familiar with PRP you know how busy it can get and why we have the program.

I've got 3 degrees below a bachelors, until last year..I traded them all in for a BS in Organizational Management.  Now if I can manage my way into full time fishing it would be the payoff....like Longhorn I too work at Vandenberg.

I was born and raised in the western part of north carolina. Got married (Dawn) and joined the U.S.Marines at age 17. We spent our first 3 years in hawaii then 4 years back on the coast of N. Carolina. After 7 1/2 years in the Marines I decided to join the U.S. Airforce. Been doing this for 3 years now at barksdale LA and somewhere along our 10 year jouney we picked up 2 lovely sons( Austin 7 and Avery 5). I love to joke around and have a good time. But also love to kick back on my boat or in my deer stand for some piece and quiet.

I've been a member of the Twin Cities Team Club since Sept. 04 and have had a great time so far. I started fishing when I was 5 and had to teach myself most of what I know now. Didn't start fishing hard for bass till I got here and hooked up with a really good friend known by the name of Fogy. When we got here all i had was a little 12 ft V-hull boat that was set up for catfishing. It wasn't long till Fogy took me out to cypress and showed me around some of his spots. After many trips to different lakes and rivers i got my first bass boat. Since then I've been hooked on the sport.

I was born in a little town called gold beach, OR.. and then promptly moved to california.  Then to SW Florida, to a nother little town called Port Charlotte.  Moved around a bit, went to USF (Go bulls!), and recently moved to Fort Myers to work with my dad and finish up school here.

Not married, no kids (that I know of  :shocking: ) and no plans just yet... I have plenty of time so Im not worried.

I've been bass fishing since I was about 12, when one of my friends took me to a local canal and taught me some in's and outs.  When i finally caught my first bass I was addicted.. and every chance I get I fish, which is nice down here, since winter doesnt mean very much.. temps can be as high as 80 during the day. :)  No boat, so I mostly shore fish, but that doesnt stop me from catching fish. :)

Love to bass fish doing it a little differently using a canoe & fishing real slow.

I enjoy all the waters throughout middle Tn probably Old Hickory the best but got a hankerin to check out some of the Louisiana hot spots next summer. I'll be buggin some folks about that.

I currently own and operate a small business gunsmithing and a gun dealership. I was raised in Alaska and we didnt have any bass up there that I recall (smallmouth maybe? too many years ago!) Lots of trout and lots of salmon and the opportunity to enjoy some great hunting.

I build a few rods on occasion and I enjoy making my own lures, and spinnerbaits. Since I cast lots of bullets it just goes to say I also make bunchs of jigs and just try to spend as much time on the water as I can.

I only found this sight a day ago and am lovin it.
