What is Charter Membership?

Can you explain exactly what a charter member is? Where do our donations go?

I would be more than happy to donate to help support the site but just want to make sure of where the money is used.

All I have learned and the friends made is definately worth some monetary support!!

Below are the goddies that you will get for being a charter memebr. All donations, contributions an such will be tagged for Forum Expences like hosting and server fees and the expences of keeping the site maintained. It is an annual membership so maybe we will get to a point that it will pay for something cool for the members like a yearly gathering or something.

1. Charter Members will have access to the Charter Members Only Support Area on this forum. All board issues and problems posted there will recieve priority. And there will be a place for them to make suggestions on additions to the forum. It is available now, "You will only be able to see this and use it if they are a charter member"

2. Your name in the "Who's Online" list at the bottom will appear in Maroon to signify your Charter Member Status.

3. You will also recieve special fish shaped icons rather than stars on the side bar.

4. You will see "Charter Member" listed in the side bar under your name.

5. You can have a "Custom Title" listed in the side bar. You can check out Sam's side bar to see where the Custom Title Area is. "You can add a special saying there if you like".

6. A Special banner will be added to your side bar to signify that you are a supporter of the forum.

I am working on a special downloads area for the charter members also and that should be up soon.

I will have to say that $20 per year is very, very inexpensive for what is available to us here. Heck, I throw that much away on useless stuff....on a regular basis.

It is not at all a required thing but it is a much appreciated gesture. I am working on things that will make it special for those that do purchase the Charter Membership so that it will be well worth your $$.

I hate when this happens but I agree with Noble again! 20 bucks is a deal for all the fun we have here. And Laurie could put it in her pocket as far as I am concerned. count me in and just let me know when you want the dough!

Papa....you should probably start to get concerned....agreeing with me could be dangerous.

Ranger - EVERYTHING is tax deductible when completing your taxes. Now, if the IRS decides to audit....well, there could be some differing opinions.

is there a fee involved in being a charter member?

? if so, how much?

oh--one more thing----will youi take a third party out of statre pay check written in pencil and not signed?

? and if youi couild wait until the third tuesday of next week to cash it i wouild appreciate it?? no really--couint me in. i love this site and think it is the greatest thing since a pocket on a shirt.

Doc,
the fee is $20 a year and there is a link on the left that will take you to a secure site that you can pay by credit card if you like

I am still getting that site set up but it is secure and it takes your money if you are interested...

I sure hope I'm not the only one to have signed up since July. You can now add one more to your list of appreciative members. I realize some of the costs and work that goes into a great site. I plan on sticking around so it's easily worth donating some cash and adding the logo to my vehicle.

Yes there are cost with keeping the site up and running, but simply put, when our members decide that they can help out and are willing to support the cause that is the greatest compliment that can be given Laurie for all her work. When you connect to the internet the data that you send and receive to see the pages on your computer travels over telephone, cable lines or in some cases satellite, the same lines your voice travels over when you use the phone. These days both voice and data are digital...1 and 0's basically. You are simply using the same lines but a little different equipment to allow your voice to travel to a common point where other people are able to talk and listen to you and each other.
